Summer Summer Summertime: The Best Foods To Have During Summer

Published on December 17, 2020

Summertime is here everyone! It’s time to bring out your summer clothes, sunscreen and pool floats. Summertime means the heat is turning up, and most likely, your diet will change. Now, I’m not saying you will eat the best foods, but hey, it’s summer. You’ve been doing good all year and it’s time to let loose and live a little. Well, that’s what you’re going to do. Eat what you want and not have a care in the world. That’s the definition of summer to me. When I think of summer, I think of firing up that grill, putting the most delicious food on, and letting my taste buds and stomach have the best time of their lives.

What foods do you think about when you think of summer? I swear I think of all the juiciest, sweet, fried, and grilled food items that my little heart desires. Thinking of putting some things on the grill and having a little cookout for yourself and family? Well, here are some top summer foods that anyone and everyone can have a bite of during summer.

Watermelon
Yes, of course, watermelon is going to be on the list, right? The temperatures are rising, and this can double as a tasty snack or even a dessert to cool you off. Who cares if it’s a sugary fruit? It makes you happy, doesn’t it, and it simmers you down from that sweltering heat.
Corn

Corn has always been a summer food staple in cookout foods. Having corn on the cob and cooking it on the grill makes the corn taste delicious rather than cooking it in the oven. Now for me, I always get the sweet corn and peel off the leaves, run some butter over it, wrap it up in foil, and pop that bad boy on the grill. I swear, it tastes better and better each time I have it.

Italian Ice/ Ice Cream

I mean, if you’re not having at least one of these during the summer, are you even human? If not, what are you doing with your life? This is also another excellent cooling-off stable to have during the summertime. I always like to make my grandmother’s homemade ice cream recipe, which reminded me of my summers when I was younger.

Pie/ Casserole

Another staple dessert that just summarizes up summer well. A good strawberry or blueberry pie sounds like a summer party to me. Also, add something extra by topping it off with some ice cream. Don’t forget about your sweet casseroles as well. They will treat you right, just like your pies, and just as tasty too.

Hot Dogs/Hamburgers

Now, this is the grand finale here. Who doesn’t love a good hot dog and hamburger during the summertime? I mean, I’m pretty sure they are like the king and queen of summertime and always a good fall back if something else doesn’t work out on the grill. They are quick and easy to whip up and a food item that never disappoints.
