Starbucks Welcomes Summer With Its New Summer Menu

Published on June 4, 2020

I guess Starbucks and I are back at it again, aren’t we? Summer is approaching and along with the blistering hot weather, bathing suit sales, and time spent at the pool comes new drink options from Starbucks. We might be spending our summers a little differently than usual, but that’s okay because Starbucks has come to the rescue yet again and is giving us life with their summer menu.

Most Starbucks shops have opened up according to QSR Magazine. “Starbucks has now responsibly reopened over 85 percent its company-operated stores across the U.S. and expects more than 90 percent of stores to be open by early June, under modified operations and hours.” Wherever you’re in the world right now, don’t worry, you can still hit up that drive-through or order through your Starbucks app and get your summer started with a refreshing drink from Starbucks.

As stores began to open, Starbucks released its summer menu in the U.S. and Canada that includes an Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink, the Grilled Chicken and Hummus Protein Box, the Unicorn Cake Pop and a S’mores Frappuccino. Now don’t get me wrong—while that all sounds delicious, and I wouldn’t mind stuffing my face into today. I’m just going to try out the Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink and the returning S’ mores Frappuccino Blended Beverage.

Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink

This drink is another form of The Pink Drink, but I honestly prefer this one over the pink drink. At first, I thought it was the same thing, but you can taste the guava once you take a sip. Now don’t get me wrong its good and all, but the only difference it has between the pink drink is the different fruits in the drink. To me, it’s not as sweet as The Pink Drink and has a little kick to it as well. I like the ginger kick in this drink because it’s the right amount put into the drink.

S’ mores Frappuccino Blended Beverage

Honestly, this is my first time having this drink even though it’s returning to the menu, and as my honest opinion, I felt as though I wasted my money on this drink. No, there is nothing wrong with it, the barista didn’t make it wrong, and there was nothing wrong with my order. It’s just this drink tastes just like their cameral Frappuccino or another Frappuccino they have on their menuThis isn’t my typical drink; either I’m not a big fan of sweets, but I decided I’d step out of my comfort zone and try something different. I was a little off, it just tastes like another drink off their menu.

Overall, both of the drinks were tasty, and luckily, I didn’t have to get another drink instead. When it comes to Starbucks drinks, it can honestly go two ways either you love it or hate it, and that’s just the way it is. I was sincerely hoping that I would like both of these drinks just so, I can add another drink to my shortlist of “Starbucks drinks that I like.” Who knows, maybe I’ll try out some food next and possibly my hopes might be a little higher.
