Former “Mighty Ducks” child-star, Shaun Weiss arrested on Sunday on burglary and methamphetamine charges.
For those of you who grew up watching Coach Bombay and “The Mighty Ducks” franchise, you know the Ducks will always have a special place in your heart. I mean come on, the “Flying V” and the “Knuckle Puck?!”
But because us “Ducks stick together,” we hate to see one of our own drown or go down the wrong side of the ice. And unfortunately for our beloved Goldberg, that’s what has been happening for many years now. If only Coach Bombay were here to sit Weiss down and school him on life.
Shaun Weiss, who starred as Greg Goldberg in “The Mighty Ducks” franchise was arrested and charged by police for burglary and for being under the influence of methamphetamine.
Weiss, now 41, was arrested by Marysville, California police after he was discovered in a car parked within a local resident’s garage around 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, according to the police department’s Facebook page.
The former “Mighty Ducks” child star somehow gained entry into the car by shattering the passenger window, Ordering him out of the vehicle and taking him into custody, police soon identified the male as Weiss.
His mugshot sent chills up and down my spine because I seriously struggled with trying to accept that this was actually him. Hell, I struggled with the same back in 2018, as this wasn’t the former child-star’s first entanglement with law enforcement. Back in August 2018, Weiss, then-39, was arrested in California on public intoxication charges.
Then (August 2018)
But wait until you see Weiss’ mugshot back from August 2018, and decide for yourself if you really see any change in his demeanor:
Now (January 2020)
I’m at a loss for words just over Weiss’ image. This is not how a Duck should look. Ever.
As a practicing attorney, I spend the majority of my time defending individuals out in Montgomery County, Ohio suffering from the nationwide opioid epidemic. Meth is not a game folks. it will ruin your life and turn even the most charming of individuals into the Walking Dead. I’ve seen it and continue to see it every day. And the same holds true here with Weiss.
I would never recognize him if he passed me by on the street.
According to the police report, Weiss “displayed symptoms of being under the influence of methamphetamine” and also admitted that “the vehicle he was filtering through was not his.”
Weiss was held on $52,500 bail. The former child-star appeared in all three “Mighty Ducks” films, which started off his career in 1992 alongside Emilio Estevez as Coach Bombay. He also appeared in “Boy Meets World” and many other projects.
