Toilet Wine: The Luxury Wine Brand That Refuses to Act Like One

A toilet-shaped bottle. A name that almost dares you to judge it too quickly. At first glance, Toilet Wine looks like the last brand you’d expect to take luxury wine seriously. That’s exactly why it works.

Somewhere along the way, self-importance started masquerading as sophistication. Not just in wine, but everywhere. Too many brands have mistaken image for substance and exclusivity for excellence. Toilet Wine has no interest in making the same mistake.

Instead, it starts from a simpler belief: exceptional craftsmanship doesn’t become more exceptional because some gatekeeper tells you it is. Quality speaks for itself. Everything else is performance.

It began with a conversation among friends about the Prohibition-era legend of bootleggers hiding bottles inside toilet tanks. But what stayed with them was something bigger. During Prohibition, there were no celebrity endorsements, no polished brand campaigns, no carefully curated image to hide behind. If people went out of their way to find your bottle, it was because what was inside had earned a reputation worth talking about. That’s the part of the era that inspired Toilet Wine.

For co-founders David Shumsky, Eddi Rimpo, and Nick Yap, that idea became the foundation of the brand. They weren’t trying to recreate the past. They were inspired by a time when reputation had to be earned bottle by bottle, long before carefully managed identities and manufactured exclusivity became part of the equation.

That philosophy still shapes the brand today. The toilet-shaped bottle is an undeniably bold choice, but it exists because the story that inspired the brand deserved a physical expression. Individually handcrafted by skilled glassmakers, every bottle reflects the same craftsmanship and care that first inspired the brand. Every detail points back to the legend that started it all.

The bottle could never be the whole story. The goal was to create a wine worthy of the story it was chosen to tell.

The inaugural release is limited to approximately 5,000 individually handcrafted bottles of California rosé. Priced at $89, it’s presented as a true first edition—a collectible from the brand’s first vintage. Once it’s gone, it becomes part of Toilet Wine’s story rather than its inventory.

The second offering is a Yuzu Blood Orange wine-based cocktail, created so more people can experience the same craftsmanship and irreverent spirit that define the brand. While the collectible rosé is designed to be kept and displayed long after the wine is gone, the ready-to-drink cocktail is meant to be opened, shared, and enjoyed.

The third offering in the lineup is set to drop this fall: a canned rosé for people who take their wine seriously, but not necessarily sitting down. Rosé on the go—beautifully improper and ready for wherever the day leads.

Toilet Wine isn’t asking people to choose between craftsmanship and personality. It believes today’s best brands have both. The bottle may be what starts the conversation, but it’s the quality that ensures it doesn’t end there.

Toilet Wine Limited Batch Rosé is produced and sold by The Blending Lab Winery in Los Angeles, made exclusively for Toilet Wine. It is available on the official Toilet Wine site and through a hand-picked group of retail partners. Toilet Wine’s canned wine and Yuzu Blood Orange ready-to-drink cocktail will be available through select retailers.
