How Kelsey Kah is Making an Impact in Technology and Project Management

Published on October 19, 2026

Kelsey Kah is the senior technology consultant at Southwest Airlines Co., an expert in cellular connectivity and agile transformation. In her current role, she works primarily with the enterprise mobility team in the technology department.

A Foundation of Fundamentals

Gained along with a firm foundation from her parents, Kah lives by the philosophy that the only thing she can control in life is her effort. Grounded in that mantra, she has always put her best effort into every position she has held, allowing this belief to carry her both personally and professionally.

Kah also believes that her work ethic has given her the ability to take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself. Her considerate nature has contributed to her success, as it has helped her build a strong network of people who know she’s dependable and capable.

Laying an academic foundation, Kah earned a bachelor’s degree in strategic management at Brigham Young University and has acquired certifications as an Agile Certified Practitioner and Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute Inc.

“A lot of the success I’ve had and the knowledge base I’ve gained comes from good project management fundamentals,” she says. “I go back to those fundamentals a lot, so I can be systematic in my approach. As I’m venturing out into these unknown areas, my comeback is always project management and the fundamentals.”

More Efficient Resource Utilization

In her current role at Southwest Airlines, Kah has used project management fundamentals to make the organization more agile. One of her accomplishments was establishing a dedicated area for connectivity so team members can identify and resolve connectivity issues. When she first stepped into her current role, connectivity lacked clear ownership, leaving engineers and analysts to coordinate efforts reactively as issues arose. She relied on her ability to bring structure to messy situations and create solutions that are effective and lead to more efficient resource utilization. Once she established clear procedures, the time it took to resolve issues was reduced from hours to less than 30 minutes, saving the company a significant amount of money.

Additionally, Kah keeps up with all the advancements in her industry. She points to the development of 5G in the cellular industry and how the use of networks by businesses and organizations continues to evolve.

“Certain carriers have been at the forefront of that infrastructure that’s continuing to be developed. 6G is on its way. With that development, we are seeing a huge increase in IoT (Internet of Things) needs. We’ve seen most large companies, and some smaller companies, continue adding to their bandwidth needs because we have so many devices that are trying to automate or simplify. It’s expediting and automating, trying to reduce waits and inconvenience for customers. All of these require a larger network and an increase in speed and bandwidth capacity to keep up with,” Kah explains.

Kah believes that the challenge to the industry will be how to build an infrastructure that is more efficient and capable of carrying a large number of devices. She is poised to face this challenge head-on and do her part in resolving.

For her accomplishments in technology and project management, Marquis Who’s Who has honored Kah as a Top Industry Leader. She was previously honored with inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who in June of 2025.
