Brandon P. Brunhammer: Leading Innovation in Audiovisual and Simulation Technologies

Published on January 18, 2026

Brandon P. Brunhammer has built his career at the intersection of technology and business development. As the director of enterprise broadcast and simulation at AVI-SPL, Brunhammer oversees specialized divisions that focus on medical simulation and enterprise broadcast solutions. His approach combines operational leadership with industry involvement. This contributes to improvements in how organizations use audiovisual technology for training, communication, and immersive experiences.

About Brandon Brunhammer

Brunhammer has been with AVI-SPL since 2016, serving through several acquisitions and transitional periods, and holding multiple positions within the company. In his most recent role, he scaled up a new division and now oversees two business units.

“It’s pretty awesome to be working for the largest AV integrator in the world, but also being given the opportunity to essentially have a startup within it, working as an overlay to all of our local offices,” says Brunhammer.

Leading a startup division within AVI-SPL has been a notable achievement in Brunhammer’s career, as the support of a billion-dollar company has provided the resources to succeed and achieve specific goals. Local sales teams helped promote the division, enabling Brunhammer to pursue targeted initiatives. The backing of AVI-SPL gave the division a larger presence in the industry, and Brunhammer’s division was able to join the corporate roundtable of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.

During the pandemic, Brunhammer was at the forefront of another development. Upon the shutdown of all in-person experiences, such as theme parks and live events, the industry shifted its focus to simulation technology. AVI-SPL and another company called Whitlock merged, and their teams combined to focus on creating immersive environments. As part of the team, Brunhammer proposed a plan for where they should direct their energy. He identified a significant opportunity in medical simulation to train doctors and nurses. Though the company had been involved in this type of project, it hadn’t been with a targeted focus. This approach was met with success.

“It grew rapidly. We went from tracking $5 million to almost $30 million after the first year, and in five years, we did almost just over $50 million,” Brunhammer says.

Shaping the Future of Esports

Brunhammer was also involved in AVI-SPL’s expansion into esports. He served as co-chair when the company joined the Esports Trade Association. By participating in nonprofit and industry groups, AVI-SPL helped shape the industry’s future.

Brunhammer participated in the creation of an esports education program and even wrote the curriculum for the Esports Trade Association. Coca-Cola joined as a sponsor of the project. Students were paired with mentors and given guidance on viable career paths in the esports industry. In the first year, 21 students completed the program with a clear vocational direction. Brunhammer won a service award from the Esports Trade Association for his work.

“Our team has generated multiple award-winning projects over the last two years that are being recognized for their outcomes, the capabilities of what they’re doing within simulation and state-of-the-art projects that are really pushing the boundaries of technology and medicine, really allowing students to be put into scenarios that are more realistic than ever,” Brunhammer says.

Finding Success Through Opportunities

Brunhammer attributes his success to his ability to capitalize on opportunities presented to him. He also acknowledges his failures and criticism, transforming them into learning experiences. For his accomplishments, Brunhammer was honored with inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who in September 2026.

Looking toward the future, Brunhammer is excited about the ongoing advancements in technology and looks forward to growing with the industry.
