Amber Heard Being Fired From Aquaman 2 for Breach of Contract Rumor Debunked

Published on March 1, 2021

Amber Heard is trending in the news, but it’s not for the negative press she received during her trials and tribulations with ex-spouse Johnny Depp. It’s also not for the petition to remove her from Aquaman 2 that received two million signatures. Instead, the reports say she was quietly booted from the James Wan Sequel for breach of contract.

Speculation is Trending Hard

Amber Heard’s alleged sacking is trending on social media, and letting her go after all the commotion seemed a little fishy, Grit Daily readers. However, “insiders,” reported that she breached the health and fitness clause in her contract.

In other words, the firing is for packing on too many pounds to look good in the skin-tight Mera bodysuit she donned in the first movie. Meanwhile, Amber Heard looks slim enough during The Stand episodes and on the recent pictures on her Instagram feed.

Fat Girl

Comic book companies came under fire in the past for presenting exaggerated breasts and unrealistically skinny waistlines on women within the pages of their mags – but they set the standard.

Because of expectations, looking like a cartoon character in a film is never an easy task. Just ask Alicia Silverstone, who had to contend with rude comments about her weight when she played Batgirl in Joel Schumacher’s critically-reviled Batman and Robin in 1997.

The Clueless actor, who was at the height of her career at that time, was called “Fatgirl” in the media, even by the paparazzi vying to take her picture.

What Went into Playing Mystique

So, what goes into getting into superhero shape, anyway? Actor Rebecca Romijn told Fitness magazine that she went through “torture” to lose weight and reprise her role as Mystique in the X Men franchise.

Rebecca Romijn, and later Jennifer Lawrence, played the blue-skinned Mystique, who looks mostly naked, save for a few strategically placed sequins.

Romijn told the magazine that she “cut out starch, dairy, red meat, alcohol, and sugar, as well as Bikram yoga — which involves sweating it out in a 105-degree room for 90 minutes while holding a variety of 26 poses — three days a week” to lose 60 pounds of baby weight.

Is it an Easy Way Out for the Studio?

The rumor mill pointed to the fact that Warner Bros. wouldn’t hesitate to offload Heard. In fact, the negative press that comes with having her involved with this portion of the DCEU franchise made it necessary. An about-face like this flies in the face of what Warner Bros said earlier. And, during that time, they said that they would be happy to stand by Heard following the last court case; the case where she went against Johnny Depp in a libel case.

Was Amber Heard Fired? Is Emilia Clarke Replacing Her?

The Internet is also roiling with news that Emilia Clarke will be slipping into the role of Mera. That rumor is untrue, as is the rumor that Amber Heard is fired.

This is not the first time rumors of Amber Heard’s firing have flown; spurred on from her legal battles with ex-husband Depp. Heard will be reprising the part of Mera next month for Zack Snyder’s Justice League. In fact, Heard looks to be fitting in her bodysuit perfectly as she wrapped her Justice League reshoots as Mera.

Additionally, she is expected to return for Aquaman 2, which is scheduled for release in December 2022.
