Tyga, one of the most famous rappers in the US, produced a new videoclip in Rio. In partnership with Kevinho, a Brazilian funk MC, the music remains secret.
Both musicians reportedly went to Vidigal, a favela complex located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to record it. We found it out on Kevinho’s fan club page.
Rap funk is a mix of both music styles. Already consolidated in US culture, rap gets more visibility and dominated music production in the last few years, according to Rolling Stones.
Lately, Brazilian funk is getting more space in America. In 2018, Spotify analyzed the increase of music style over past two years. They concluded that Brazilian style had more than 3.421% growth in other places. Check it out!
As the number one funk consumer out of Brazil, the US singers are investing on partnerships that may be the cause for more approval. And Tyga didn’t want to be left behind!
Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson, known as Tyga, was born in Compton, California. He already sang with Lil Wayne and Kanye West, and had a relationship with Kylie Jenner, that ended in 2017.
Tyga went to make his first concerts in Brazil last 20th January. Above all, he is also known for Pop It, Good Day and Dope. Now, he has a contract with Columbia Records and is producing a remix of Avy Macarena, song released in December 2019 and now counting with Ozuna, a puerto rican singer.
