Marie Kondo Didn’t Invent The LumiCharge, But She Would Approve

Published on April 3, 2019

When you think about desk lamps you don’t usually think about clutter, but you should. Lumi Charge is aiming to de clutter your work space with a new approach to how we organize the tech around our desk. The company was founded on the idea that a work space shouldn’t have to be a mess of cords, charging ports and other gadgets in order to get the job done.

First and foremost, the LumiCharge is a smart lamp. The product allows you to plug in your devices to charge on the base of the lamp while the LED light illuminates your work space. The neck of the LumiCharge also provides a home base, where you can keep up with important information like the time of day, the current temperature outside, and the date and month.

More Than That

The LumiCharge is meant to deliver more than just your average alarm clock and desk lamp have in the past. The LED lighting system offers different hues and brightness levels that can be adjusted to create the perfect amount of illumination as not to strain your eyes. The lamp is great for working late or reading in bed, and can be adjusted to fit different color and brightness needs. At night, for example, you may want to create a warmer hue to keep your eyes from feeling strained.

Perhaps the best perk included in the LumiCharge is its built in motion sensor, which will notice when you enter a room to keep you from having to fumble around in the dark. The sensor won’t turn on in your sleep, though, so you don’t have to worry about keeping a smart lamp next to the bed.

Help Productivity

The LumiCharge was designed to help boost productivity by eliminating clutter around your desk space. The lamp has one cord built into it but has a universal phone charger at the base of the lamp. The lamp allows you to charge your phone, check the time, and plug in extra devices in the lamps two extra USB ports.

The LumiCharge offers two main products to choose from. The original LumiCharge desk lamp has all of the original features of the device like brightness and hue control, a universal phone charging dock, two extra USB ports, and an LED display that shows the time, date, and temperature.

The new LumiCharge II is currently in the production stage after a generous crowdfunding campaign (which you can still back here) pushed it into the next phase of creation. The new LumiCharge II will include all of the original features of the first version, with some added features like a wireless charging pad and new colors.

The LumiCharge aims to free you from the confines of a desk or bedside table that’s constantly covered in cords and charging pads by combining it all into one device. The original LumiCharge is available on sale, and the brand new LumiCharge II just went on sale. Order one here.
