The Yob Family Foundation brought the spirit of the season to life during its 12th Annual Christmas Celebration, held Friday, December 12, 2025, at The Florida Aquarium in Downtown Tampa. Designed to uplift foster and underserved children, the annual event welcomed approximately 130 young guests for a day centered on joy, imagination, and meaningful connection. This year’s celebration proudly supported two longtime partners, A Kid’s Place of Tampa Bay and RCMA Florida, both of which play vital roles in strengthening the lives of children and families across the region.

The day began with exclusive access to The Florida Aquarium, allowing children nearly two hours to explore exhibits in an environment designed just for them. From colorful marine life displays to hands-on educational moments, the experience blended fun with discovery. After the aquarium adventure, children moved to the Bayview Rooftop Terrace, which had been transformed into a festive holiday space filled with interactive stations, decorations, and cheerful surprises.

The celebration included a wide range of activities intended to spark creativity and learning. Children participated in holiday-themed crafts, created personalized snow globes, and enjoyed educational games that encouraged exploration and teamwork. A festive lunch gave everyone a chance to relax and connect, while a lively photo booth captured smiles and special memories throughout the afternoon.

This year’s superhero theme added an extra layer of excitement and imagination. Costumed characters, including Santa, Batman, Superwoman, Miss Incredible, and other heroes, made special appearances, spending time talking, laughing, and posing for photos with the children. The theme helped reinforce positive messages of courage, kindness, and strength, values that resonated throughout the event.

Several community leaders and notable guests joined the celebration, enhancing the sense of support and recognition for the children. Tampa City Council Member Naya Young attended on behalf of the city, along with former NFL and CFL player Shane Simpson and NFL wide receiver Deon Cain. Together, they assisted Santa in distributing personalized gifts to every child, ensuring that each participant felt seen and celebrated.

Mayor Jane Castor shared her support through a warm welcome letter to the Yob Family Foundation, which was formally presented during the event by Council Member Young. The message emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the city and organizations dedicated to serving vulnerable youth.

“At the 12th Annual Yob Family Foundation Christmas Celebration, we had the honor of making the holidays brighter for underserved and foster children,” said Lisa Yob, Director of Philanthropy of the Yob Family Foundation. “From meaningful educational activities and crafts to Christmas stocking gifts, to Santa hats, and unforgettable time with Santa and NFL players, every moment was a celebration of joy, community, and hope. It’s a privilege to provide a day where every child feels seen, valued, and loved.”

Beyond the holiday festivities, the Foundation also highlighted its year-round commitment to local youth. Each year, the Yob Family Foundation awards scholarships and community grants to Tampa Bay students aging out of foster care who demonstrate resilience, academic dedication, and a commitment to service. These programs help reduce financial barriers as students pursue college degrees, vocational training, or certification programs.

Through its annual Christmas Celebration, scholarship initiatives, and ongoing community partnerships, the Yob Family Foundation continues to turn compassion into opportunity. By creating moments of joy while investing in long-term success, the Foundation strengthens both individual futures and the broader Tampa Bay community.
