In the rapidly evolving technology landscape, generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is spearheading innovation, fundamentally altering the operations of organizations worldwide. According to a recent McKinsey report, generative AI is poised to contribute over 75% of the total yearly AI value, with significant expectations for disruptive changes across various industries. The report further highlights the potential of generative AI to automate tasks that currently consume 60-70% of employees’ time, thus significantly enhancing productivity.

Recognizing the growing demand for specialized expertise in developing successful generative AI strategies, Amazon has unveiled the AWS Generative AI Competency—a specialized designation within Amazon Web Services (AWS). This competency aims to assist AWS customers in swiftly adopting generative AI solutions, positioning themselves strategically for future advancements. AWS Generative AI Competency Partners offer a comprehensive range of services, tools, and infrastructure tailored to meet diverse customer needs, including security, applications, and integrations.

Among the distinguished companies receiving this recognition are Loka, Accenture, Deloitte, Tata Consultancy Services, and Hugging Face. These companies are now designated as AWS Partners, showcasing their technical proficiency and successful track record in supporting customers with generative AI solutions.

The AWS Generative AI Competency launch marks a significant milestone, as affirmed by Canalys, which reports that AWS is the first to introduce such a competency for partners. By validating partners’ technical expertise and business acumen in generative AI, AWS aims to instill confidence among customers investing in generative AI solutions.

Ruba Borno, Vice President of AWS Worldwide Channels and Alliances, emphasized the importance of partner specializations, citing a recent Canalys study that found 87% of customers consider partner specializations a top-three selection criterion. Borno stated, “Generative AI has ushered in a new era of innovation and transformative value across business and technology. With the AWS Generative AI Competency launch, we’re helping customers take advantage of the capabilities our technically validated Generative AI Partners offer.”

The AWS Competency Program facilitates connections between customers and AWS Partners with extensive knowledge and technical expertise in AWS technologies and practices. These partners play a crucial role in integrating and deploying AWS-based solutions tailored to meet the unique requirements of diverse customers, ranging from startups to global enterprises.

Bobby Mukherjee, Founder and CEO of Loka, one of the companies recognized with the AWS Generative AI Competency, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, sharing: “The trek to achieving the AWS Generative AI Competency was rewarding. This specialization reflects Loka’s deep technical understanding and lockstep vision with AWS in generative AI innovation. AWS’s collaboration and our team’s relentless drive were key to getting here. The AWS Generative AI Competency highlights Loka’s commitment to delivering advanced generative AI support and guidance that founders and leaders seek.”

Leveraging AI technologies such as Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker JumpStart, AWS Generative AI Competency Partners possess deep expertise in developing groundbreaking applications across various industries, including healthcare, media and entertainment, public sector, and financial services.

Loka, a full-stack consultancy renowned for its expertise in generative AI, has been instrumental in assisting businesses in adopting generative AI solutions. Nathaniel Hundt, CEO of Dr. Katz Inc., praised Loka’s GenAI Workshop for its role in helping businesses identify and implement generative AI use cases efficiently. “The team prioritized our road map with us and understood the benefits of a generative AI component that could be delivered quickly and affordably. Because of their guidance, we saw amazing growth and impact in virtual groups, pediatric care, and veterans’ clinics this past year.”

The launch of the AWS Generative AI Competency signals a new era of innovation and collaboration, empowering businesses to harness the transformative potential of generative AI and drive meaningful impact across industries.
