FLX Networks adds Alvi Abuaf and Eric Lordi to its Advisory Board as the company expands its membership network, technology platform and marketplace of solutions. The appointments bring experience in private equity, wealth technology, asset management and financial services to a company connecting asset managers, insurance carriers and wealth management firms.
Abuaf, an Industry Partner at Motive Partners, and Lordi, a senior financial services executive, will collaborate with other board members. FLX said the advisers will provide feedback and perspectives intended to strengthen relationships across the industry. The company described the appointments in its announcement.
Why FLX Networks Adds Alvi Abuaf and Eric Lordi
The board already includes Nate Dalton, co-founder of Affiliated Managers Group and former president of MSIM Distributors; Darlene DeRemer, co-founder of Grail; and Dan O’Lear, former president of Franklin Distributors. FLX founder and CEO Brian Moran said Abuaf and Lordi bring experience across investing, technology and wealth management.

Moran said FLX is building infrastructure to connect asset managers, insurance carriers and wealth managers with one another and with solutions they need. He said the new members’ perspectives would be valuable as the company continues that work. Moran also described their decision to become more involved as a reflection of the opportunity FLX sees ahead.
The appointments broaden an advisory group whose listed members have held leadership roles in investment management, wealth services and financial companies. The announcement does not describe specific projects or responsibilities for Abuaf and Lordi. It says they will work with the other advisers to offer feedback and perspectives.
Advisers Bring Wealth and Technology Experience
At Motive Partners, Abuaf has worked with investments including InvestCloud, Advicent, RetireUp, BetaNXT, Mediant, CAIS, TIFIN AMP and FNZ. Motive Partners is described as a private equity and venture capital firm focused on wealth and asset management technology.
Before joining Motive, Abuaf served as CEO of Capco North America and held senior leadership positions at Citi and Ernst & Young/Capgemini. He also founded the E&Y FinTech Incubator. Abuaf said he had watched FLX build what he called essential infrastructure for the industry from its earliest stages, and he looked forward to deepening his involvement as the network expands.
Lordi previously led Wealth Platform and Experience at Citi Wealth. He also served as a managing director and head of ConnectWealth Strategic Development at J.P. Morgan, and as managing director and head of Advice Platforms at Morgan Stanley. His earlier leadership roles included Barclays and Merrill Lynch.
Lordi said his career inside large wealth management institutions gave him firsthand experience with friction between asset managers and distributors. He said he looked forward to helping FLX continue efforts to remove that friction for its members. The announcement does not identify a timeline or a specific initiative for the advisers’ work.
FLX Networks’ Advisory Board and Industry Leadership
FLX describes its network as a way for manufacturers and distributors to engage through integrated workflows, information and business solutions. Its stated membership includes asset managers, insurance carriers and wealth management firms. The company says members can use a marketplace of solutions and tailor their experience to business needs.
Grit Daily has also covered executive appointments at UpSwell Marketing and leadership succession at Dometic, Calix and Adder, in a separate report on engineering companies scaling beyond founder leadership. Another article examines how structured funding and regional support networks help young entrepreneurs build business capacity. Those reports concern different organizations; here, the stated next step is for Abuaf and Lordi to collaborate with FLX’s existing advisers and provide perspectives as the company expands its network, platform and marketplace.
