On Friday night, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital after experiencing chills and a fever, according to the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent press release.

Ginsburg, 86, was transferred to the hospital from Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., according to the Supreme Court. But lawyers have no fear, the Notorious RBG will be okay, as she is expected to be released from the hospital as early as Sunday morning. Her symptoms seemed to abate after IV antibiotics and fluids.

This is another major ailment for the High Justice, as she missed oral arguments before the High Court back on November 13 due to a stomach bug. Last year, Ginsburg suffered two separate instances with cancer, forcing her to miss court sessions in January for the very first time in her career as a Supreme Court Justice.

The first, lung cancer, and second, radiation treatment for a tumor on her pancreas. The abnormality, according to the Supreme Court’s August press release, was first detected after a routine blood test in early July, and a biopsy performed on July 31 at Sloan Kettering confirmed a localized malignant tumor. As part of her treatment, a bile duct stent was placed. The Justice tolerated treatment well. She canceled her annual summer visit to Santa Fe, but has otherwise maintained an active schedule. The tumor was treated definitively and there is no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body.

Justice Ginsburg continues to undergo periodic blood tests and scans.

My mother told me to be a lady. And for her, that meant be your own person, be independent.
