Timothy D. Francis: Exploring Health Through Applied Kinesiology

Published on July 17, 2026

The longtime chiropractor has spent more than four decades studying the connections between structure, nutrition, and overall well-being.

Healthcare often focuses on treating specific symptoms, but some practitioners spend their careers searching for the deeper connections that influence how the body functions. Applied kinesiology is one such field, combining principles from chiropractic care, nutrition, muscle testing, and related disciplines to better understand human health.

For more than 40 years, Timothy D. Francis, MS, has been dedicated to that pursuit. As the owner of Chiropractic Kinesiology in Las Vegas since 1985, he has built a career centered on helping patients through an integrated approach that draws from multiple areas of study.

A Passion for Learning and Teaching

Dr. Francis developed a strong academic foundation early in his career. After completing coursework at the University of Nevada, Reno, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1982 and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, magna cum laude, from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1984. He later completed graduate studies in biology and nutrition through the University of Bridgeport.

Teaching became an important part of Dr. Francis’ professional life from the beginning. While attending the University of Nevada, Reno, he taught within the Department of Recreation and Physical Education. He later served as a lead instructor and teaching assistant at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, where he taught biomechanics and chiropractic techniques.

That commitment to education continued throughout Dr. Francis’ career as he trained fellow practitioners and contributed to professional development programs.

Advancing a Specialized Field

Applied kinesiology became the primary focus of Dr. Francis’s work. Through the International College of Applied Kinesiology, he taught a foundational course more than 30 times and served in several leadership roles, including chairman of both the syllabus review and exam review committees.

Dr. Francis’ expertise also led to opportunities beyond the classroom. In 1990, he participated in a joint study at the National Olympic Sports Training Center in Beijing, China, where he demonstrated applied kinesiology techniques and shared knowledge with medical professionals.

In addition, he has written more than 30 articles for professional journals and publications, and he has served on the editorial review board of Alternative Medicine Review.

Recognition for a Lifetime of Contributions

Over the years, Dr. Francis has earned recognition for both his clinical work and his contributions to education and research. He is the only recipient to receive the Alan Beardall Memorial Award from the International College of Applied Kinesiology four times. Earlier in his academic career, he was honored with the Scholar of the Year Award from Phi Kappa Phi and received the Charles F. Cutts Scholarship.

Dr. Francis’ achievements have also been recognized through numerous Marquis Who’s Who distinctions, including the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, Marquis Who’s Who Top Professional, and Marquis Who’s Who Industry Leader.

A Career Defined by Care and Curiosity

Today, Dr. Francis continues to serve patients while remaining active in professional organizations and ongoing education.

Looking back on more than four decades in practice, his career has been shaped by a willingness to keep learning, explore new ideas, and share knowledge with others. Whether working with patients, teaching fellow practitioners, or contributing to research, Dr. Francis has devoted his professional life to better understanding the many factors that influence health and wellness.
