A strategic business developer with expertise in talent acquisition and market expansion, Spencer Dillinger has driven significant growth across multiple industries. He serves as the vice president of business development at JAGS Mechanical, where he excels at recruiting talented individuals. His work has proved especially valuable for the company since joining in 2020, as his efforts have helped JAGS Mechanical, which specializes in commercial mechanical services and installation, expand and progress toward becoming a national brand.
Driving Revenue Growth Through Strategic Leadership
Dillinger’s contributions to growing companies started with the Christian hospitality organization Answers in Genesis, where he helped boost the company’s revenue substantially during his tenure as a culinary services manager. The organization’s food service department was generating less than $1 million before his arrival, but after he hired, managed, and retained superb staff, it generated $12 million in revenue. Dillinger remained with Answers in Genesis until leaving to work with JAGS Mechanical as an office coordinator in 2020.
Following this period, Dillinger was active as a technician from 2021 to 2023. In this capacity, he was responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment. He also worked directly with customers to explain issues and solutions, maintained accurate service records, and collaborated with team members to ensure the timely completion of jobs.
As JAGS Mechanical’s vice president of business development, Dillinger plans to grow the company beyond the location of its founding in Ohio. He initiated efforts to carry out this plan in 2023 by helping establish the company’s Columbus branch to support a technician’s relocation to the area.
In facilitating this operation, Dillinger simultaneously advanced the technician’s career and furthered the company’s expansion in the region, forging a close bond between team members and generating significant revenue. Columbus now serves as a thriving market for JAGS Mechanical, encouraging Dillinger and the rest of his team to continue pursuing further expansion and development.
Expanding Markets and Embracing Technology
For Dillinger, a key component in remaining competitive in his position is keeping up to date with the latest advancements in technology, particularly in the field of AI. He notes that the continued digitization of appliances and monitoring systems has the potential to change the mechanical services industry in ways the trade is not in a position to keep up with. As a result, he dedicates much of his personal time to investing in his education by reading, listening to podcasts, and consulting AI for updates on international news and trends.
Building Wealth and Planning for the Future
When not investing in his education, Dillinger can be found investing in real estate. He successfully acquired $1.4 million in real estate by the time he was 28 years old and currently manages properties across three cities and two states. He plans to purchase nearly $3 million in real estate by the time he turns 30, serving as a testament to his impressive skills in capitalizing on investment opportunities.
Outside of his professional efforts, Dillinger is dedicated to his wife of 10 years and supporting his three sons. He also harbors a great love for homebrewed beer, a hobby that garnered him success in a 2021 competition and provided him with the opportunity to brew a personal recipe at the Sam Adams Brewery in Cincinnati.
In the future, Dillinger seeks to develop more branches for JAGS Mechanical, assist skilled technicians in their efforts to become entrepreneurs, and expand his real estate holdings.
