Evolve Executive Life Coaching announced that enrollment is open for The Performance + Happiness Lab, a coaching and training program designed for senior leaders seeking stronger performance, greater pay and promotion opportunities, and a more sustainable path to executive success.
As part of the announcement, Evolve founder Shayla King is also sharing seven qualities C-suite leaders and sponsoring organizations should evaluate when selecting an executive coach. The guidance reflects the company’s focus on helping executives strengthen their influence, improve their positioning, and pursue advancement without sacrificing their health, family life, or long-term well-being.
King, a former Chief People Officer who reached the C-suite before 40, founded Evolve Executive Life Coaching after more than 20 years leading leadership training and coaching in major corporate settings. Her background includes executive talent evaluation, global mergers and acquisitions work, and high-stakes leadership decision-making, which now informs the company’s coaching approach.
“Senior leaders do not need more generic motivation,” said Shayla King, founder of Evolve Executive Life Coaching. “They need coaching that reflects the realities of executive pressure and helps them increase their influence, position their value clearly, and pursue bigger opportunities in a way that is sustainable.”
According to King, the seven qualities senior leaders should look for in an executive coach include:
- Lived executive experience with boardroom pressure and visibility
- A clear, disciplined coaching methodology
- The ability to challenge high performers without pushing them toward burnout
- Skill at spotting the internal patterns, like stress and self-doubt, that keep leaders stuck
- A focus on time as a leadership asset
- Credibility with corporate sponsors on succession and organizational dynamics
- A philosophy tying success to performance, pay, time, and quality of life
King’s coaching framework is centered on what she describes as Performance, Pay, and Promotion plus Happiness, a model that supports leaders who want measurable career growth alongside stronger boundaries and greater fulfillment. Her website presents The Performance + Happiness Lab as a structured program for corporate executives seeking both stronger results and a better overall life experience.
The company works with leaders from organizations including Koch Industries, Ernst & Young, McKesson, NetApp, Kaiser, Boeing, and Wayfair. Engagements include both employer-sponsored coaching and leaders who independently invest in executive development to improve advancement, executive presence, and day-to-day effectiveness.
King is also certified in leadership and performance coaching through Brown University. In addition to her corporate background, her perspective on leadership was shaped by a major medical crisis at age 39 that led her to rethink how ambitious professionals define success and use their time.
“The leaders who advance most effectively are not always the ones working the hardest,” King said. “They are often the ones who know how to build the right relationships, communicate their value strategically, and lead with calm confidence.”
With enrollment now open, Evolve Executive Life Coaching said The Performance + Happiness Lab is designed to help senior leaders pursue next-level opportunities with greater clarity, stronger positioning, and a more deliberate approach to executive growth.
