The people of Kentucky have spoken, and now it’s a three-peat for R&B Roofing and Remodeling in the Best of the Best Awards. Founder Scott Waldman and his 400 team members won multiple times again this year, beating out larger companies with ten times the workforce.
“Nobody in the history of these awards has ever won it for three years straight, and we won it in every category that we were nominated for,” Waldman says. “That’s kind of an interesting thing. We’ve won for Best Bathroom, Best Basement, Best Kitchen, Best Remodeler, Best Window Company, and Best Roofer.”
Plus, Waldman himself won the Best Boss category for the third time. It’s a huge honor to be so beloved by his team members and in his community, and he’s grateful for the continuing accolades.
“Because this kind of standing sets you apart. It isn’t just the revenue growth; you actually have service and credibility across the region that you’re selling to.”
This not only shows how R&B Roofing and Remodeling has satisfied residential and business clients for 15 years, but for Waldman, these multiple awards mean more than simply dominating the marketplace. Being in this spotlight also turns a focus on the philanthropy and community service he and his company are involved in.
“This solidifies what we’re doing, talking about the partnership that we have with the University of Louisville, and how we’re working with student athletes, providing financial aid for students in need, and have the program where we give away up to $365,000 in contest prize money during the halftime show at games in football season, or we’re giving away $50,000 if U of L wins the ACC tournament.”
On the business side of things, the awards give him a platform to introduce new building materials and methods that his company has debuted in the area. Waldman brought MoistureShield Solid Core deck products into Louisville, which is a revolutionary material for hot Kentucky summers when people want to be outside on their decks.
“It’s 30% or 40% cooler than standard composite decking when you’re walking on it, and it can be submerged in water,” Waldman says.
Other newly-introduced products include the sidings like Celect and Evolve.
“Everything from vinyl all the way to the most difficult composites, from Hardie to Celect to Wolf products. We’re certified in all of those. All of our people are trained by the manufacturers to give the best products and services and warranties in the business,” Waldman says with a smile. Focusing on providing the best customer service (including lifetime warranties) helps with word of mouth, which is what leads to R&B Roofing and Remodeling coming out on top again and again in the Best of the Best Awards.
