This week, Tulum will host ReFi Horizons, a two-day experience that brings together finance, nature, art, and culture under one vision: regeneration. For me, this feels like a full-circle moment.
When I first started gathering our Guardians of Nature community, it was about more than just cleanups or planting trees. It was about creating a living demonstration that Tulum could be a beacon for planetary regeneration. With ReFi Horizons, we are stepping into that vision and welcoming some of the brightest global and local voices to share their wisdom, inspiration, and action.
Why Tulum, Why Now?
Tulum is at a crossroads. On one hand, we face immense pressures — fragile ecosystems, unchecked development, and a heavy economic dependency on tourism, a sector that has recently seen an unprecedented downturn. On the other hand, we are blessed with a vibrant, creative community that refuses to accept business as usual.
There is also a significant desire from the local government to address pressing issues such as sargasso management, opening up beach access, and creating events that inspire positive tourism. We have seen this momentum with global names like Sting performing in Tulum, and regional initiatives such as Grill Fest attracting new audiences. ReFi Horizons builds on this spirit, showing that Tulum is ready to become a hub for regenerative tourism and innovation.
Highlights of the Symposium
On Friday, October 3rd, the Bacab Hotel will host a day of conversations, workshops, and art at the edge of regeneration. Highlights will include:
- Monty Merlin Bryant, founder of ReFi DAO, who will ground us in the essence of ReFi — what it is, why it matters, and how the global network of ReFi nodes is reshaping finance for people and the planet.
- Tere Castagnino, founder of Like Management Group and Tulum Crypto Fest, who will lead a powerful session on inner regeneration and tokenizing our worth into abundance.
- Sidney Cano, founder of DUIT Global, who will guide participants through practical frameworks for achieving systemic regenerative effects.
- Alex Nassarius, Founder of Toroide Studio & Aion AI Consulting, who will unlock da Vinci’s codes of sacred geometry and quantum cosmometry as a blueprint for regeneration.
- Panels on regenerative tourism, lifestyle innovation, and the future of recycling in Quintana Roo.
- An Artists for Impact showcase, presenting collections such as Fierce Feminine of ReFi, Arte Eterno, and ocean-focused works representing SDG 14, curated by ReFi Tulum and BitBasel.
The day will be led by Charlotte Alexandra, founder of Vintensión and an acclaimed documentarian, who will MC the event and bring her gift for weaving story, art, and community.
We’ll close the day with a fire ceremony and a community dinner at Vintensión Algavero, complete with a shaman-led copal blessing and wine ritual, followed by music and cultural sharing under the stars.
Day Two: Regeneration in Action
On Saturday, October 4th, we take our intentions to the land with a Guardians of Nature cleanup in Sian Kaán. Together we’ll remove waste and track our impact while sharing in community and gratitude.

For me, this is the most important part, showing that ReFi is not only theory, but lived practice.
Partners and Seed Sponsors
This vision would not be possible without our partners and seed sponsors, each of whom reflects the regenerative innovation we want to highlight:
- XHO Bacalar: a pioneering eco-sustainable luxury community on the Xul-Ha lagoon, featuring stunning architecture, 21 bio-pools, organic farms, edible forests, and the Rodavento Bacalar 5-star hotel.
- ReefStarter´s innovative technology and modular reef system that protects coastlines through reef regeneration.
- Sargasso Sandals: transforming seaweed into sustainable shoes and showing what circular design looks like.
- Back to Blue: outfitting our teams in sustainable tees to carry regeneration into fashion and community identity.
The Horizon Ahead
ReFi Horizons is more than a gathering. It is a glimpse into what is possible when community, creativity, and capital come together for the planet. From symposium talks and workshops, to hands-on cleanups, we are cultivating Abundance through Action — tangible ecological, cultural, social, and economic benefits that spread from Tulum into the world
I cannot wait to stand alongside this community and these leaders this Friday.
The horizon is here — and it is Regenerative.
