Radian Group reshapes executive leadership with appointments across finance, technology and specialty insurance. The company said the changes are intended to strengthen oversight, advance strategic priorities and support sustainable expansion while maintaining discipline in risk and capital management.
Dan Kobell will become Chief Financial Officer, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Mike Weinbach. Radian said Kobell, who joined the company in 2015, has held a succession of senior finance roles and served as interim CFO since February 2026.
Finance and technology leadership
In the permanent role, Kobell will oversee financial planning and operations. His responsibilities include capital deployment, risk oversight and preserving Radian’s financial resilience and flexibility, according to the company’s leadership appointment announcement.

Radian said Kobell will work with the executive team so investment decisions align with strategic objectives, support sustainable business development and deliver long-term returns for shareholders. The company described the appointment as part of a wider leadership change.
Courtney Smith Goodrich has been appointed Chief Information Officer and will report to Weinbach. She will lead technology direction, including systems upgrades, data capabilities and analytics. Radian expects the work to strengthen its use of information, speed decision-making and support customer service.
Smith Goodrich joins from Fannie Mae, where she served as Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer and led organization-wide transformation programs. Her prior senior executive roles were at Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase.
Radian reshapes executive leadership in specialty insurance
Russell Merrett, who helped establish specialty insurance subsidiary Inigo and serves as its Chief Underwriting Officer, will oversee property and casualty strategy across Radian Group in a newly created role. He will report to Weinbach and assess business opportunities against Radian’s portfolio and long-term objectives.
The role includes considering entry into new markets, developing partnerships and identifying ways to expand insurance and reinsurance operations while maintaining a focus on profitable growth. Radian’s move places Merrett’s specialty insurance experience within the group’s wider strategy.
Grit Daily has also covered leadership in community organizations, including Leadership Burbank’s fundraiser, as well as a marine company’s sales leadership appointment and an educator recognized for leadership.
At Inigo, Craig Knightley has been promoted to Chief Underwriting Officer, subject to regulatory approval. He will take over from Merrett and lead underwriting across Inigo’s insurance, reinsurance and partnership businesses. Knightley has been with the specialty insurer since its establishment, contributed to its development and originated the Horizon and Inform programs. He will report to Inigo Chief Executive Officer Richard Watson.
Stuart Bridges, an Inigo founding member and outgoing Chief Financial Officer, will become Radian Group Advisor. Radian said he will draw on his property and casualty insurance knowledge and industry contacts to develop relationships with business partners and market participants, including investors focused on the sector.
Meghan Bartholomew and Steve Keleher will remain Co-Heads of Radian Guaranty, the group’s mortgage insurance subsidiary. Watson will continue as Inigo’s Chief Executive Officer.
Weinbach said the appointments add financial, technology and underwriting expertise to Radian’s leadership team. He said the company sees opportunity ahead and plans to pursue its next phase of growth with the risk and capital discipline that, in his view, supports financial strength and long-term stockholder value.
