Nuhad Khoury, the founder and CEO of TIBA, has dedicated over three decades to introducing Nashville to rejuvenating spa treatments from around the globe. She has become a trusted source for all of her clients, from her very first beauty product store, Nuhad Khoury’s Cosmetics and Perfumery, to the various entrepreneurial and creative undertakings in the spa and wellness space. Her most recent endeavor is the next iteration of TIBA, a boutique spa and wellness center that offers clients an atmosphere of calm and intimacy, born from Nuhad’s four decades of experience in the spa industry, including three previous successful spa creations within Nashville.
Originally from Damascus, Syria, Nuhad called several countries home in the Middle East while she was growing up. However, following the loss of her father, she and her mother moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1965, where her brothers attended Vanderbilt University.
For Nuhad, a dream that would go on to shape the rest of her career began in Damascus and came to fruition in the United States: her dream to own and operate a high-end, European-style beauty institute. Following the opening and expansion of her first store in the 1980s and the time she dedicated to cultivating a loyal clientele, Nuhad’s concept for TIBA emerged in 1994. From there, the idea would grow and change shape over the coming years.
Three Decade Career Spent Bringing a Dream to Life
Nuhad’s vision for TIBA was something that Nashville had never seen before. The original concept was influenced by Nuhad listening to the desires of her existing clients at her cosmetics and perfumery store, which led her to research best practices in beauty and health. The result was the first iteration of TIBA — a state-of-the-art spa, which incorporated an exclusive retail space, a bistro, a fitness and nutrition program, a private training program, and a salon that offered the most advanced and authentic skin and body treatments to Nashvillians. With stunning architecture and highly experienced aestheticians, this first version of TIBA provided guests with a sense of serenity and luxury that couldn’t be found anywhere else at the time.
Later on, in 2008, Nuhad revised her vision for TIBA, relaunching and rebranding it as Tiba Nu and relocating her new store in a freestanding building where she created a private, quiet oasis for those looking to escape. Nuhad, who describes the Tiba Nu location as a “beautiful, tiny jewel box,” focused on offering her clientele a novel combination of ancient practices for health, including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), heart-healthy nutrition, a boutique, and a fitness program — all within a soothing and elegant environment.
All along the way, regardless of where Nuhad’s enterprise was located or which specific products or services were offered, her mission to create a beautiful space in which her clients could feel good about themselves remained constant.
TIBA’s New Location
The next step in Nuhad’s journey began in 2022 when she started searching for a property to purchase for her renewed vision of TIBA. After decades of serving Nashvillians with uncommonly personalized services and memorable experiences that have been backed by a highly trained, professional team, TIBA’s latest iteration is focused on total beauty and wellness in Berry Hill. Following the tradition of each previous TIBA concept, which brings something new to Nuhad’s clientele, she has established the Berry Hill location as a luxury boutique spa and wellness center.
TIBA’s warm, intimate, and carefully designed space and a new menu of service offerings will offer clients a social destination and luxury experiences unique to the area. Every detail of the Berry Hill location has been carefully selected to provide a joyous, refreshing environment for all returning and new guests. TIBA will offer its legendary skin and body services with innovative regenerative and restorative wellness treatments, many of which are entirely new to Nashville, including carefully researched bespoke biohacking technology, Geneo Glo2 facials, and Ballancer Pro lymphatic drainage compression therapy.
TIBA in Berry Hill is just the next step in Nuhad’s dream and creative process. She and her exceptional team, several of whom have been with her for almost 30 years, are fully dedicated to enhancing the confidence and health of Nashvillians well into the future.

With Nuhad’s leadership and thoughtful, ongoing research, TIBA is continuing to bring innovative “firsts” to Nashville through exclusive offerings, like renowned French skincare brand Ingrid Millet Paris and leading-edge beauty and wellness treatments.
