Marketing is one of the most effective tools available to any company, but people expect a lot these days. In fact, they expect personalized content on all fronts, including marketing. That is where Movable Ink comes in. Movable Ink turns data into personalized content, and it does that at any touchpoint, ensuring that customers experience engaging content that is suited to them. To learn more about the company and its recent funding round, check out the announcement below.

Movable Ink is officially a unicorn! With a new, $55 million Series D investment round led by Silver Lake Waterman, we are now officially valued at $1.3 billion–joining a select stratosphere of marketing technology brands.

Investors also included Contour Venture Partners, Intel Capital, and others and brings Movable Ink’s total investment amount raised since 2010 to $97 million. After a record-setting 2021, we also announced earlier this year that Movable Ink became one of only a handful of companies to eclipse the $100 million annual recurring revenue (ARR) mark. Now we’re excited to say that we have officially hit unicorn status.

“Today’s consumer has greater expectations for personalization than at any point in history. Brands are expected to tailor experiences to people moving across different touchpoints, multiple devices, and at different stages of their journey,” said Vivek Sharma, CEO and Co-Founder of Movable Ink. “Marketers must leave the campaign-centric mindset behind and adopt a customer-centric one. Movable Ink has been the cornerstone of some of the biggest global brands’ marketing programs for many years. This fresh round of capital will allow us to accelerate our product roadmap, answering marketers’ calls to drive continued innovation and automation across their programs and help them thrive in this new world.”

The past two years have been filled with milestones at Movable Ink. In addition to surpassing $100 million in ARR earlier this year, we increased our global employee count to 550 with the goal of growing past 700 Inkers by the year’s end. We also acquired Coherent Path, the AI-powered personalization engine that gives marketers a clear picture of their customers’ intent and uses data to serve the most ideal content to every unique customer. We also expanded our European operations, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Nordics, and Benelux.

“Making it easier and more intuitive for marketers to create and manage personalized content across channels is increasingly important to drive real-time intent, conversion rates and brand loyalty,” said Shawn O’Neill, Managing Director at Silver Lake Waterman. “We are excited to continue our partnership with Movable Ink as they further expand their platform, machine learning and automation capabilities at scale with the acquisition of Coherent Path.”

Movable Ink is now a truly global brand, a unicorn poised to hurdle the obstacles marketers face when creating 1:1 omni-channel marketing personalization. By transforming customer data into stunningly visual marketing communications, Movable Ink helps brands develop unique and lasting impressions with every customer, every time, on every device.
