Growing up as a coal miner’s daughter in West Virginia, Monitta Williams learned the value of saving from her father, who hid away nearly $100,000 in a safe deposit box, never earning a single penny in interest. “He was smart enough to save, but no one taught him how to grow that money,” Monitta recalls. That moment stayed with her. It sparked a lifelong mission: help people — especially in underserved communities — see beyond the bank and break free from financial systems designed to keep them small.
Armed with a deep sense of purpose and decades of experience in business ownership, Monitta brings faith, integrity, and fierce intelligence to the financial services industry. After years of teaching in both public schools and private ministry, running multiple successful businesses with her husband, and raising five children, she’s now laser-focused on helping people near retirement build real, generational wealth.
“My granddaughter passed in 2016 without insurance. My father tried to leave money behind, but it wasn’t enough. I’ve seen too many people run out of time or money — or both. I’m here to make sure that doesn’t happen again,” she says.
Monitta is now a certified Retirement Coach and strategic partner of Xtreme One, where she specializes in eliminating risk, fees, and taxes from retirement strategies. Her work centers on financial stewardship, innovation, and education — making sure families don’t just survive retirement, but actually build wealth during it.
Her client stories reflect the depth of her impact. One retired schoolteacher came to Monitta, embarrassed, having lost a chunk of her savings in the market. “I didn’t sell her anything. I sat with her, taught her how money works, and helped her protect the rest,” Monitta says. Months later, not only had that teacher rebuilt her confidence, but she was also teaching her grandchildren how to budget — using Monitta’s notes. “That’s the legacy I want to leave. Generational literacy, not just financial fixes.”
Even without formal accolades in the finance world yet, Monitta’s work is backed by recognition in other sectors, including being named “Woman of the Year” by the National Association of Professional Women, inclusion in “Trademark Who’s Who,” and as an alum of Goldman Sachs’ 10K Small Business Program. But to her, success isn’t measured by awards — it’s about impact.
“Every time a client tells me they can finally retire without fear, or that their children are now financially equipped because of something I taught them — that’s the win.”
In the next five years, Monitta plans to help hundreds of thousands retire with confidence, build wealth with wisdom, and pass down something greater than money — financial understanding. Her focus includes faith communities, where she already has decades of trust, leadership, and relationships. She’s also on the board of an up-and-coming school for underserved communities and is preparing to launch workshops that bring financial literacy directly into churches.
“Faith is what fuels me. But strategy is what carries it. People need both.”
To anyone entering the financial services field, Monitta offers sharp and soulful advice: “Pray. Research. Get a mentor. But don’t you dare enter this industry unless you’re ready to fight for people.”
Monitta Williams is more than a financial professional — she’s a force for generational change. Her business tagline says it best: Creating, Building & Shifting Legacy. And she’s just getting started.
