Steve Conboy, founder and chief technologist of Mighty Fire Breaker, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who, recognizing his significant contributions to fire prevention technology and sustainable building practices.
From Carpenter to Fire Prevention Innovator
Conboy’s journey from union carpenter to fire prevention pioneer spans more than four decades. His company, Mighty Fire Breaker, recently acquired by GEVI, provides environmentally safe and sustainable solutions for proactive wildfire defense.
“Our mission is to change the landscape of fire prevention worldwide,” says Conboy. “We’re not just fighting fires; we’re preventing them before they start.”
Conboy’s innovative strategy includes a patented, cost-effective program for fire-defense five-story wood-framed, high-density housing projects. This program has gained widespread recognition and adoption by leading builders nationwide.
Certified, Accredited, and Patented Fire Technology
Mighty Fire Breaker’s technology is not only innovative but also certified and accredited. The company’s fire inhibitor is UL GreenGuard Gold Certified for low chemical emissions, ensuring its safety for use in schools and healthcare facilities. Additionally, its wildfire defense hydrogel is certified by the USDA BioPreferred Program, demonstrating its eco-friendly composition.
“Our commitment to safety extends beyond fire prevention to the very products we use,” Conboy explains. “We believe in solutions that protect both people and the environment.”
The company’s proactive strategy for wildfire defense has garnered attention from high-risk communities. Recently, Conboy presented Mighty Fire Breaker’s wildfire defense strategies to the Montecito Fire Department and the local residents to show the effectiveness of its clean fire inhibitor technology.
Environmental Advocacy and Industry Recognition
Inspired by his father’s experience with asbestos exposure in the U.S. Navy, Conboy has become a vocal advocate for eliminating toxic chemicals in construction and fire prevention.
His efforts have not gone unnoticed. Conboy has received several prestigious awards, including the EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year and the Thomas Edison Award.
Conboy’s recent book “Nature is Screaming. Are We Ready to Listen?” further strengthens his commitment to environmental sustainability and safety in the face of increasing wildfire threats.
