Marquis Who’s Who Honors Wenqi F. Wang as a Top Professional

Published on November 26, 2025

For her expertise in data science, analytics, and engineering, Wenqi F. Wang was recently acknowledged as a Top Professional by Marquis Who’s Who. With a decade of professional experience, Wang has established herself as a prominent member of her field. Currently a senior business intelligence engineer at Amazon, she is dedicated to supporting data-driven decisions.

An Early Interest in Finance

Wang began her career as a market research intern at Idea Generation in 2011 while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and management at University College London. After graduating in 2012, she spent the summer as a business analyst at the International Financial Management Training Program.

Later, Wang completed a postgraduate program in actuarial science at Bayes Business School in 2013 before beginning work as a financial consultant at ICBC-AXA Life Insurance in 2014. That year, she also joined BPS Investment Management Co. as a senior analyst. Though Wang found success in finance, she found herself interested in a more scientific approach to the field.

Refocusing on Technology

With this in mind, Wang chose to pursue a master’s degree in applied statistics at Columbia University, which she earned in 2016. During this period and the job search phase, she realized she wanted to focus on bridging tech and non-tech. From her perspective, those with technical knowledge know how to build, but not what to build; non-tech people have the opposite experience. Moving forward, she resolved to be the middleman between these mindsets.

After her graduation from Columbia University, Wang joined the startup Ocrolus in 2017 as a data analyst. There were only a few other employees when she joined, allowing her to take on many responsibilities. Deeply involved with data and various administrative tasks, she was promoted to data scientist in 2020. Today, she attributes much of her success to her experience at Ocrolus.

Building a Career at Amazon

Building on her career at Ocrolus, which ended in 2022, Wang transitioned to a senior business intelligence engineer role at Amazon Games. After only a year in the branch, she entered the same role at Amazon itself. In this position, she is responsible for writing code and engaging with stakeholders, bridging tech and non-tech mindsets to transform unstructured data into structured insight.

A Love for Music and Travel

Outside of her professional career, Wang is also an accomplished pianist and singer. Most notably, she has sung in choir settings for several concerts and given invited performances at Carnegie Hall and the United Nations. Unsurprisingly, Wang also enjoys opportunities to travel, especially where she can watch musical shows and exhibitions along the way.

Plans for the Future

Within the next five to 10 years, Wang plans to continue working at Amazon and also intends to build her own startup, Lenora. She will additionally continue maintaining a small side business on Etsy, where she designs custom pet-themed iPhone cases. Her primary goal is to balance her work at Amazon and Lenora while furthering her career as a bridge between tech and non-tech ways of thinking.
