Toni Lee Angello, a recent Marquis Who’s Who honoree, exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose, intention, and innovation. As the chief executive officer of Angello Enterprises, she has built a thriving career spanning construction, real estate, insurance, manufacturing, imports/exports, federal contracting, and vocational training. Her ability to blend strategic innovation with critical thinking and creative problem-solving reflects a unique leadership style rooted in excellence, discipline, processes and systems, and commitment to societal progress.
Foundations for Spiritual Transformation
Angello’s journey began unexpectedly. A pivotal encounter introduced her to a new way of thinking, opening her “third eye” and expanding her interests to Tarot cards and spirituality. These became tools for reshaping her mindset. “I was drawn to their structure and symbolism,” Angello shares. This newfound clarity led her to explore astrology, Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, and other spiritual traditions, inspiring a personal transformation rooted in the ten pillars of Buddhism: patience, kindness, honesty, truth, reason, self-control, sanctity, knowledge of learning, control of senses and absence of anger.
Through this spiritual awakening, Angello discovered the foundation for success: a need to balance the mind, body, and spirit. This philosophy would guide her professional endeavors and leadership approach. “Spirituality isn’t just about belief; it’s about taking inspired action,” she says. “It’s about creating meaning and pushing boundaries, creating, destroying and creating again, to build a better world.”
Empowering Industries Through Leadership
Angello, a third-generation builder and entrepreneur, entered the design-build industry in Austin, Texas, where high demand and fierce competition pushed her to adapt, manage and influence quickly. As a custom builder and interior designer for exclusive clients, she navigated complex creative projects with precision and care. “Construction is a challenging and complex industry,” she says. “You can go from right-side up to upside-down in seven minutes. Over time you learn to balance client needs, design aesthetic, budgets, sub-contractors, logistics, and time.” Angello thrived by applying her spiritual principles to her work and finding opportunities for growth.
As Angello Enterprises grew, Angello expanded her business, launching ventures in real estate, insurance, manufacturing, imports/exports, federal contracting, and vocational training. Each new endeavor addressed unmet needs while creating high value for clients and the community. “Diversification is a strategy for success.” Angello explains. “It is a way to amplify my impact across industries and enter new emerging markets.”
Second Chances Through Vocational Training
A vital moment in Angello’s career came when she began to hire “re-entry” individuals exiting the justice system or experiencing homelessness to address staffing shortages. She soon realized the transformative power of employment for those re-entering society. “A career is your life, a significant portion of it. You should do what you love and love what you do,” she says. Over seven years, her efforts created 1,000 jobs spanning construction, real estate, insurance, manufacturing, imports/exports, federal contracting, and vocational training for individuals building their lives, many of whom have gone on to start their own businesses.
To formalize this work, Angello founded the Angello Enterprises Vocational Training and Leadership Academy, which provides assessments, skills training, job placement, mentorship, and leadership development. “Coaching and teaching inspires others to change their perspective. Engaging and challenging them to increase skillsets in high-demand careers and propelling our society to new heights by reshaping the workforce of today and tomorrow,” she says.
Leading with Vision for a Brighter Tomorrow
For Angello, professional success and spiritual growth are inseparable. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit — a balance that fosters creativity, discipline, processes, and systems. “I’ve hilariously stumbled into what I now consider the greatest job in the world,” she says. “Coaching, teaching, and leading people at all levels — from C-suite executives to at-risk individuals — has been the most rewarding part of my journey. Each individual has a duty to propel society forward through knowledge and passing on that knowledge. Knowledge is a gift and one we should share.”
Angello’s story is one of resilience, discipline, innovation, reinvention, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Her work inspires others to dream big and embrace their potential. “Your reality begins in your mind,” she says. “When you imagine what your life could be, look to the stars and never turn away from your best and highest purpose.”
