Antony Jackson Arumairaj, MD, a critical care physician and educator, recently received recognition as a biographee of Marquis Who’s Who. Dr. Arumairaj contributes to the medical field through his research on the impact of COVID-19.
Dr. Arumairaj’s work helps to understand how conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease worsen the severity of COVID-19, informing future pandemic preparedness and patient care strategies. “The national inpatient sample analysis highlights COVID-19’s impact and helps identify which populations are most vulnerable during future pandemics,” he emphasizes.
Dr. Arumairaj’s career spans multiple healthcare systems worldwide. After earning his medical degree in India, he developed his internal and emergency medicine skills in Australia before moving into his current role in New York. “My global experience shapes my approach to medicine, allowing me to adapt and apply best practices across different medical contexts,” he shares.
In his current roles as an attending physician and clinical assistant professor of medicine at New York Medical College/Metropolitan and as an internal medicine physician with NYC Health + Hospitals, Dr. Arumairaj is involved in patient care and the education of future healthcare professionals.
