Environmental Advocate and Corporate Advisor
Dr. Hawk’s journey as an environmental advocate began during his service in the Vietnam War when he witnessed firsthand the impact of human activities on the earth. This experience shaped his academic and professional path, leading him to pursue advanced degrees in architecture, engineering, and system science. His academic journey included a PhD from the Wharton School, where he focused on system science and international business, further equipping him to tackle complex environmental issues.
Dr. Hawk’s current major project, “Dimensionality,” is designed to help people understand their perspectives and communication based on different dimensions of existence. This framework starts from a “pointless” zero dimension and progresses through concepts like the straight line of the first dimension and the two-dimensional existence explored in the book “Flatlined.” It culminates in the fifth dimension, emphasizing spiritual interconnectedness beyond religious contexts. This project reflects Dr. Hawk’s commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of human interaction with the environment and each other.
Academic Excellence and International Influence
Dr. Hawk embarked on a distinguished academic career after completing his PhD in system science and international business at the Wharton School in 1979. He served as a visiting professor at the Stockholm School of Economics from 1975 to 1996, where he launched a groundbreaking project analyzing the relationship between industrial practices and environmental deterioration.
Dr. Hawk’s expertise also led him to roles at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Tsinghua University. His impact extended beyond academia as he served as a senior advisor to China Construction America Inc., helping the company grow from $30 billion to $200 billion in annual revenue.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hawk has remained committed to addressing environmental issues and corporate rehabilitation. His published works, including “Short-term Gain, Long-term Pain: Climate Change as a Faustian Tragedy” and “Too Early, Too Late, Now What?,” reflect his ongoing dedication to these crucial topics.
