Brent Phillips has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Phillips is the founder of Milk & Honey Ranch, a unique farm resort that offers luxury accommodations and a variety of activities, such as fishing, biking, and trails. Since 2021, he has been responsible for all aspects of the ranch, from welcoming guests to serving food and developing new ideas. Beginning as an Airbnb in his garage for refugees from war, Milk & Honey Ranch has expanded and is now a full-service resort. Phillips’ entrepreneurial journey began long before this venture, with a notable career in technology and business.
In 2022, Phillips founded Luep in Burton, Texas, where he still serves as chief executive officer. Prior to this, he co-founded 2nd.MD, where he held the roles of chief innovation officer from 2017 to 2022 and chief technology officer from 2010 to 2016. Under his leadership, this firm became embedded in numerous Fortune Top 5, Top 10, and Top 20 companies, impacting millions of lives before being acquired by Accolade for $460 million. Before his success with 2nd.MD, he was a systems engineer at Intrcomm Technology from 2004 to 2010 and president of Aspen Computer Solutions concurrently from 2002 to 2009.
Before immigrating to the United States in 2002, Phillips’s career began in Johannesburg, South Africa. He served as division director at Omega Couriers from 2001 to 2007 and as lead systems manager from 1994 to 2000. He also worked as a software engineer at Exsol Solutions from 2000 to 2001 and held various contractor roles with Eagle Vision Productions and Brain Hatting Quality Resource.
Academically, Phillips earned a master’s degree in information technology from the University of South Africa in 2006 after attending Rand Afrikaans University in 1999. He also holds several certifications, including Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Microsoft Certified Solution Developer. In addition to his education, his faith and upbringing have been significant influences on his success, instilling in him values of honesty, diligence, and hard work. His single mother was a key role model for him.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Phillips has been actively involved in civic organizations. He founded Sandbox Church in Houston in 2016 and has served as a pastor and technology director at Crossroads Church of Aspen. His commitment to community service extends to teaching roles at Second Baptist Church and Lakewood Church in Houston.
He is very proud of achieving corporate success and subsequently turning to a quieter, slower side of life and helping others reconnect at Milk & Honey Ranch, which earned the Business of the Year Award. He also takes pride in developing Luep.app to redefine social interaction and his publication, “Choosing Significance Against The Odds.”
In his personal life, Phillips enjoys spending time at the ranch and traveling with his family, which includes one daughter and one son. Looking ahead, he is focused on expanding Milk & Honey Ranch into a long-term living community where people can reside permanently rather than visiting for short stays.
