People.ai Raises $100 mln in Series D Round

People.ai, a leading revenue and intelligence platform has announced a Series D fundraising round which was worth $100 million, valuing the company to $1.1 billion. The new round was co-led by Mubadala Capital and Akkadian Ventures.

Existing investors ICONIQ Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners also participated.

The funds will support People.ai’s growth focusing on investments in its SmartData platform, and expanding its service into new industry segments.

People.ai’s products such as the SmartData Foundation platform, patented Artificial Intelligence (AI), SmartMatch™, and PeopleGraph® identity graph technologies are assisting customers such as AppDynamics, DataRobot, Ivanti, Okta, and Zoom increase revenue of the year.

In addition, the AI-driven platform has been awarded 49 patents and has over 40 pending. The technology collects business activity captured directly from email, calendar, and conferencing systems then turns it into data that makes enterprises more productive.

“B2B sales is changing, as companies increasingly look to operationalize all revenue-impacting functions and drive customer engagements based on data-driven insights instead of hunches and instinct,” said Oleg Rogynskyy, CEO and Founder at People.ai, “Our AI technology harnesses business activity like email, calendar, and video conferencing data, allowing sales managers to become data-driven coaches, and reps to spend more time on the right sales pursuits. This new funding will ensure that People.ai continues to lead the industry with the world’s best account and opportunity management functionality.”

Founded in 2016, the company has rolled out its AI on $239 billion enterprise deals and 1.1 billion unique sales activities with 14 billion AI insights extracted from those activities.

Over the past year it acquired Closeplan and Hero Research. The company also hit a customer growth rate of 260%, demonstrating how attractive its technology is.

Along with the new fundraising round is the appointment of Ankit Bhatia as SVP of Engineering at People.ai, who will lead the company’s next phase of innovation as well as join the executive leadership team.

Previously, the company had also welcomed Robin Matlock, former VMWare CMO to its Board of Directors.
