Victoria Boston’s decades-long career is one built on a dedication to exceptional leadership and exquisite customer and employee experiences in the telecommunications industry. She currently serves as the executive vice president and chief customer experience officer at Tech Network Inc., located in Sayreville, New Jersey.
Gaining Early Experience
Boston’s career began during her senior year of high school, a testament to both her pragmatism and heartfelt commitment to serving others. With just one class needed to graduate, she spent her afternoons working part-time at the Department of Defense, Military Sealift Command at the Washington Navy Yard, supporting the human resources team as a specialist.
Her connection to the military ran deep. Her father, a proud World War II veteran, had been awarded the Harry S. Truman Presidential Award for valor, and her eldest brother also served in the U.S. Army. Supporting the military in a civilian capacity became a point of pride for Boston, especially as she built strong bonds with personnel who often deployed every few months.
Education and a Diverse Career
When Verizon later offered her a promotional opportunity, Boston accepted and joined the company in 1990 in an entry-level role. She took full advantage of Verizon’s tuition assistance program, completing George Washington University’s project management program and later earning both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business administration from Strayer University.
Over her 25-year tenure at Verizon, Boston rose through the ranks with 13 promotions, ultimately leading national teams of more than 6,500 employees. The first decade of her career was particularly transformative as she discovered the transferability of her skills, embraced cross-functional projects, and learned never to let others define her capabilities.
Boston’s leadership and customer service expertise were central to her success as she climbed the corporate ladder. In 2017, she was named national vice president of sales at Frontier Communications. A year later, she joined Comcast NBCUniversal as division vice president of customer retention and later as head of construction and engineering, a role she held until July 2024.
Creative Works and Civic Contributions
As an extension of her professional career, Boston frequently serves as a keynote speaker at leadership conferences, commencement ceremonies, and global events focused on women’s leadership. She is also an accomplished author, best known for her book “3 Slow Nickels: Reflections on Growing Up, Showing Up & Not Giving Up.” Originally published in November 2015, the book became an international bestseller in Canada and Germany, and reached the top 10 in the U.S. shortly after its release.
Beyond her professional achievements, Boston is a passionate advocate for ending period poverty, which impacts over 150 million girls worldwide. Her latest initiative involves launching sustainable manufacturing facilities in Africa and India to produce safe, non-toxic, reusable menstrual products, simultaneously addressing menstrual health and driving economic growth through job creation.
