With more than 20 years of experience, Lawrence J. Signore, Esq., known as “The Rhode Lawyer,” has made a significant impact on the legal industry. An Impetus to Pursue a Legal Education
Signore’s grandfathers were both veterans, and each advised him against joining the military. Rather, they encouraged him to go to college. Through education, they believed that one could better protect others. Together, their advice sparked Signore’s interest in earning a legal education to become a lawyer.
By 1997, Signore completed a bachelor’s degree in political science from Rhode Island College. He went on to earn a Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University’s School of Law in 2002. Specializing in workers’ compensation, personal injury, DUIs, and private practice, Signore soon joined the legal profession in full.
A Foundational Experience in Law
From 2002 to 2003, Signore gained valuable experience as a judicial law clerk for the Rhode Island Judiciary. While he had aspirations to work in the Supreme Court, he found his calling in focusing on workers’ compensation. Following this foundational experience, he transitioned to become an attorney with Morrison Mahoney LLP, a firm specializing in insurance defense.
In 2005, Signore joined Kelly Kelleher Reilly & Simpson as an attorney. When one of that firm’s partners passed away and the firm dissolved three years later, he formed a partnership with Sullivan Signore Whitehead & DeLuca LLP. Another three years later, however, Signore founded his own practice, the Law Offices of Lawrence J. Signore.

Fashioning himself as “The Rhode Lawyer,” with the tagline “the lawyer that comes to you,” Signore centered his practice on a commitment to accessibility and client service. Dedicated to workers’ compensation, he often assists with immigration issues related to the legal area and serves in family court. His dedication and unique approach have earned him a reputation for trust in his field.
Awards, Accolades, and Achievements
For his contributions, Signore has earned numerous awards and accolades. He has been featured in Forbes magazine, recognized as a Top Attorney in Rhode Island by The Providence Journal’s Readers’ Choice Awards in 2017, and acknowledged for demonstrating professional excellence in the law by Rhode Island Monthly magazine from 2020 to 2025.
Despite his many achievements, Signore considers his greatest accomplishments to be his legal successes. In one instance, one of his clients was represented by the former Rhode Island speaker of the House. Facing 20 years in prison when Signore took over the case, the client’s sentence was reduced to just one year of probation, with an ankle bracelet instead of prison.
What’s Next for the Law Offices of Lawrence J. Signore
Looking to the future, Signore hopes to expand his law practice while supporting his children as they complete their college and graduate school education. He intends to pass down his law practice to a family member who chooses to attend law school, or to another attorney who shares his same principles. Ultimately, Signore aspires to be one of the most recognized attorneys in Rhode Island.
