As senior director of digital marketing at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, Theresa Marie Porcaro has dedicated herself to advocacy and patient-first care. With 15 years of experience in marketing and related fields, Porcaro has established a reputation for developing effective communication strategies that drive growth. As the health care industry advances, she will continue to enhance relationships between patients and health care institutions.
An Academic Foundation
Porcaro’s professional journey began with an educational foundation that still supports her work today. In 2012, she earned a bachelor’s degree in communication with a focus on business administration and marketing from Bryant University, where she graduated magna cum laude. As her career progressed, she earned additional certifications, including a Google Analytics Individual Qualification and Harvard Business Leadership Accelerator.
From Reporter to Senior Director of Marketing and Growth
While pursuing her studies, Porcaro joined Richner Communications as a reporter and soon transitioned to a similar position at Patch, where she was employed from 2011 to 2012. Building on this foundational experience in communications, she established SpecialT Consulting as a marketing strategist and copywriter. While she continued to work with other firms, she operated her company for the next 10 years.
After founding SpecialT Consulting, Porcaro joined Astonish as an inbound marketing specialist and was promoted to marketing manager in 2013. In 2015, she joined Upserve as a content specialist and was promoted to senior content strategist and analyst, as well as content marketing manager, that same year. In 2017, while still with Upserve, she also joined the editorial team at The Lady Project. After leaving Upserve in 2018, Porcaro joined UiPath as a global campaign manager and remained there until 2022, from their Series B through their IPO and listing on the NYSE.
In 2022, Porcaro had the opportunity to join Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine as a marketing director. Upon accepting this appointment, she decided to close operations at SpecialT Consulting and has dedicated herself to creating change in the medical industry since. As the senior director of marketing and growth at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, she has played a key role in transforming the organization’s approach to patient engagement.
Overcoming the Challenge of Chronic Disease
Much of Porcaro’s current work is informed by her struggle with endometriosis, a chronic disease that causes severe pelvic pain. Although she has exhibited symptoms of the condition since age 12, she was not diagnosed until age 30. Porcaro envisions her contributions as a way to ensure that other girls and women don’t have the same experience she did.
Awards and Accolades
Porcaro is known for giving 150%, even when faced with a chronic illness, and her contributions have been acknowledged accordingly. She has received the Gold Award for Health Digital Media from Merit Awards and was recognized among the top 10 most admired leaders of 2024, the most influential people in health care marketing of 2025, the five most inspiring leaders to watch of 2025, and the five amazing women leaders to watch of 2025.
Advocating for the Future of Health Care
Despite facing personal and industry challenges such as access to affordable healthcare in women’s health and the adoption of artificial intelligence technology, Porcaro remains determined to continue making an impact. She hopes to continue her advocacy for women’s health and establish groups that will promote awareness of women’s health concerns. Porcaro’s efforts to build networks for change underscore her expertise in health care and marketing.
