Katharine Burke founded Purryfuls to capture the calming sensation of a cat’s purr on demand after experiencing burnout in her demanding tech career. Struggling to prioritize self-care, she longed for a product that could replicate the relaxing comfort of snuggling with a purring cat. Inspired by her own cat, Wren, an affectionate yet unpredictable cuddle buddy, Katharine envisioned a plush companion that offered soothing purrs without the mood swings. With creativity (and a few feline interruptions), Purryfuls was born, a playful, comforting escape for all ages.
“Purryfuls is more than a plush,” says Katharine Burke. “Inspired by my own cat, who brings both laughter and calm to my life, I wanted to create a companion that could offer the same soothing comfort and playful spirit to others.”
After months of prototyping, Katharine successfully replicated the soothing vibrations of a real purr, while also ensuring high-quality production of the plush product. The excitement continues with plans to introduce a second plush to the line, Beatrix, nicknamed B, inspired by Wren’s real-life sister. Together, Wren and B embody the perfect balance of playful mischief and comforting companionship that Purryfuls strives to deliver.
