Lindsey Van Wagner, the founder of Spirit Vigilante and Haven 101 Wellness Studio, is a transformational guide whose work bridges the gap between spiritual healing, evidence-based wellness practices, and personal storytelling. Her journey from the structure of federal government work to soul-centered mentorship began with a powerful reckoning. At 27, after years of high performance but deep personal disconnection, she hit rock bottom. Sobriety became the turning point that led her to rebuild her life with intention, purpose, and spiritual clarity.
From Breakdown to Breakthrough
Born in Rockville, Maryland, as the eldest of six children, Van Wagner’s early life followed a traditional mold — honor student, a degree from the University of Maryland, and a seven-year career at the National Institutes of Health. Yet beneath the success, she felt spiritually lost. Addiction, unhealthy relationships, and burnout forced her to confront the life she had built, which was quickly turning to self-destruction, and ultimately, to choose a different path.
That choice led her to study health promotion, complete yoga teacher training, and build a new career focused on helping others transform. She taught wellness in St. Croix, survived two Category 5 hurricanes, and eventually returned home to launch Haven 101, a space for writing, community healing, and personal growth.
The Spirit Vigilante Method
Her signature framework, the Spirit Vigilante Method, weaves together neuro-linguistic programming, health coaching, narrative therapy, and soul work. It is not a surface-level approach to self-improvement — it’s a path toward reclaiming one’s power and rewriting the stories that shape identity. Through her writing, 1:1 mentorship, group workshops, and courses, Van Wagner helps high-achievers, creatives, and spiritual seekers reconnect with who they are.
Truth as a Healing Tool
At the heart of her work is the belief that storytelling is a sacred act. Her book, Spirit Vigilante: Telling My Truth to Help You Live Yours, is both memoir and manifesto. Her brand, described as “soul-led with an edge,” invites clients into a raw, reverent space where transformation is possible, not through bypassing discomfort, but by alchemizing it into truth.
A Vision for Collective Liberation
Van Wagner’s work is grounded in social responsibility. She partners with recovery communities and underserved groups to make healing accessible, incorporating justice-oriented frameworks into her teachings. She is also the Secretary of the Veg Society of DC, championing health education and sustainability.
As she builds her next chapter — a digital platform, global retreats, and a second book — her mission remains unchanged: to guide others out of disconnection and into alignment. Spirit Vigilante is more than a brand; it’s a movement for radical authenticity and inner liberation.
