As the United States faces rising health issues like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, there’s a growing need for new ways to approach nutrition and care. Jaclynn B. Morgan has spent her career working to address these issues through personalized health and nutrition services.
As the co-founder and chief executive officer of Healthvice, Morgan is helping lead efforts to promote healthier eating and address the nation’s many health crises today.
A Vision for Holistic Health
With more than 20 years of experience in patient care and nutrition, Morgan has built a diverse career. She began as a medical massage therapist, specializing in helping people manage chronic pain. “I always wanted to help people on a larger scale,” she says.
This desire led Morgan to co-found Healthvice in 2023, a company dedicated to providing dietary solutions for people with specific nutritional needs. “Healthvice is about making a real difference in people’s lives,” she adds.
At Healthvice, Morgan works on creating new ways to help people live healthier lives. She’s particularly excited about the role technology plays in her mission. Her development team, alongside Burton Algorithms, is developing artificial intelligence (AI) to provide personalized nutrition in a unique way, ultimately helping people find wiser eating habits, potentially reducing their reliance on medication.
Forward-Looking Approaches to Health and Nutrition
Healthvice’s focus is to enable people to make informed food choices and to show that great taste and health go hand in hand. Morgan is also focused on the growing popularity of weight loss medications like GLP-1. “We want to target those seeking a healthy way to control their sugars without immediately turning to medication,” she says. Additionally, by promoting tasty and convenient eating habits, Morgan has developed the WellFedApp platform to help people utilize preventative and supporting long-term culinary solutions for health problems like diabetes.
Morgan’s work also includes educating people about nutrition. She hopes to show people that more wholesome eating can be just as enjoyable as it is beneficial to their health. “Nutritious and delicious is the BEST combination,” she presses.
A Commitment to Overcoming Challenges
Starting Healthvice was challenging, but Morgan’s passion kept her going. “When it comes to starting something new, you can’t let the challenges stop you,” she reflects. “You must be willing to go through the tough times and find solutions. If you quit, that’s the end.”
Building a company in the competitive food industry was not easy, but Morgan’s perseverance helped create a business focused on craveable and health-centric eating. “The give and take in your diet is vital. There’s no guilt in indulging a craving. Just keep it as a reward and not too often. I always say a little bad keeps you good,” she relays with a glimmer in her eye.
Looking Forward: Expanding the Impact
Morgan has big plans for Healthvice’s future. Over the next five to ten years, she wants to expand her company’s reach internationally, furthering the encouragement of smart eating habits: “I want to bring people and their families back to the kitchen table.”
Morgan’s goal is to help families make tastier, healthier meals at home and reduce the damage caused by ultra-processed foods. By helping people eat better through convenience and craveable taste, she hopes to mitigate the healthcare crisis in America, improving lives in the process. Through her work at Healthvice, Morgan is leading the charge in making healthy eating accessible and enjoyable for all. Her dedication to improving public health and helping individuals make better food choices has made her a leader in the field. “Craving health through great taste keeps a WellFed future for us all.”
