Dr. Rosales’s passion for health care and research has fueled his career. “Everything changes every day. Try to learn as much as possible from all different areas,” he says. This mindset has spurred his dedication to continuous learning. After earning a Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Nacional Experimental Francisco de Miranda in Venezuela in 2013, Dr. Rosales transitioned into clinical research, initially working in pediatric oncology.
“I’ve always been interested in the field of medicine. I never envisioned doing anything else,” Dr. Rosales shares. His mother, who aspired to become a doctor herself, influenced his career path. Upon arriving in the United States, he saw an opportunity to pursue his passion for clinical research, which ultimately led him to focus on oncology and hematology.

At IQVIA Inc., Dr. Rosales plays a pivotal role in managing clinical trials for a variety of oncology treatments. As a senior clinical research associate, he coordinates more than 100 trials while collaborating with hospitals, clinics and pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Rosales’ work involves reviewing critical safety, regulatory and clinical data to prove the efficacy and tolerability of new drugs. As the primary point of contact for all trial-related issues, he ensures that each study progresses smoothly.
Dr. Rosales works alongside medical monitors, data managers, clinical researchers and laboratory vendors, all while resolving any conflicts that arise between stakeholders. His expertise in managing complex trials ensures that treatments reach the right patients at the right time.
A Pivotal Career Moment
One of Dr. Rosales’ standout moments came while working with the Children’s Oncology Group and Nicklaus Children’s Health System. It was in these roles that his passion for improving the lives of children and his passion for advancing cancer treatments met: “Pediatric oncology is my true calling.”

Looking to the future, Dr. Rosales plans to return to clinical practice as an interventional cardiologist: He proudly states, “I’m deeply passionate about cardiology.” He wants to contribute to the advancement of medical treatments and improve patient outcomes, just as he’s done in oncology.
Dr. Rosales balances his professional ambitions with his commitment to family. He is quick to prioritize the role of family in his life: “Even though I chose to be a physician, I also pay special attention to being a father, husband and son.”
