Identical twins Lauren and Katie Hamden might have over 1M followers online, with the majority of their fans impressed by their intense beauty. Still, not all parts of being an influencer have been positive.

The 23-year-old Hamden twins said that although they feed off of the engagement with their audience, they noted that sometimes, they have to take a step back from the internet.

“It’s not often that we get criticism online, but when we do, it’s sometimes best for our mental health to walk away from our phones and remind each other how well we’re doing,” the Hamden twins said in a joint statement.

Though the comments aren’t all good, Lauren and Katie agreed that the criticism helps them shape the way they create content, even if they disagree with it.

“Obviously we disagree with most of the negativity. But oftentimes, what people say, good or bad, really fuels our fire and makes us want to create the best content we can,” Lauren and Katie agreed.

The Hamden twins added that if they didn’t have each other to lean on, handling the online community wouldn’t be as easy to do.

“We turn to each other when faced with negativity because, at the end of the day, we know each other best. We don’t feed off of each other’s feelings towards the criticism, we find a way to stay positive. If something needs fixing, ok, but there have been times when the comments just don’t make any sense,” the twins said.

The Hamden twins noted that they understand how people go through challenges on any given day, so they try not to take any negative feedback too seriously. “Everyone has a bad day. Sure, it’s not the best feeling to be someone’s outlet for anger, but we get it. It happens,” they said.

When Lauren and Katie have had too much, though, they take the time to rest and re-energize their mental and physical states — something they take very seriously.

“We make sure to work out and eat really healthy. It helps keep our minds clear and ready to work. We exercise up to five days a week and rest for two days, which is super important for our wellbeing,” said the Hamden twins.

With a couple of years of modeling under their belts, Lauren and Katie continue to prove their talents. It won’t be long before their online influence grows to great numbers, as they’ve already seen monumental success in the industry.
