Marquis Who’s Who has proudly honored Frank Mann, an artist, educator, and writer, for his remarkable career noted by artistic reinvention. Combined with his recent distinction of the Venice International Phoenix Award, Mann’s achievements attest to his dedication and exceptional contributions to the arts.

Mann is preparing for his highly anticipated exhibition, set to take place in Rome at the end of the year, a pinnacle of his long years in the industry and a sign of his continuous prominence in the art community.

Celebrating a Legacy of Visual Artistry

For more than 30 years, Mann has consistently pushed the boundaries of visual art. His work, which includes six major groups of paintings reflecting his research on visual perception, has received critical acclaim and has been exhibited in hundreds of group shows and more than 20 solo exhibitions across New York, Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, Venice, and Berlin.

“My journey as an artist has been a constant exploration of how we perceive the world around us,” Mann shares. “Each piece I create attempts to challenge and expand our understanding of visual perception.”

Mann’s four-decade career has earned him more than 30 prestigious international awards, including lifetime achievement honors and named prizes across Europe and the U.S. Notably, the International Association of Top Professionals named him Artist of the Decade in 2020 and Top Global Impact Artist of the Year in 2023.

Bridging Art and Education

Throughout his extensive career since 1970, Mann has guest lectured at numerous prestigious institutions. These include the Corcoran College of Art (now part of George Washington University), Pennsylvania State University, the Pratt Institute, the New School, Parsons School of Art, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Since 2005, he has expanded his lecturing to Iona College, the Presbyterian Collegiate Church Center, Northampton College, Reading College, The Educational Alliance, the Interchurch Center, and Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto in Venice, Italy. Additionally, Mann operated his own Frank Mann Studio from 2012 to 2019.

Mann’s commitment to education surpasses traditional academia, as evidenced by his work with various charitable organizations and his efforts to raise awareness about AIDS through collaborations with the Association AIDES in Paris and Visual AIDS in New York.

“Art can educate, inspire and transform,” Mann explains. “I’ve always believed that my role as an artist is not just to create, but to share knowledge and foster a deeper appreciation for the visual arts.”

Mann’s work is represented in the permanent collections of renowned institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the National Galerie in Berlin, and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nice.

With his exhibition in Rome closing in, Mann reflects on the road so far. “Each award and each exhibition is a reminder of the incredible journey I’ve been on. I’m honored by the recognition, but what truly drives me is the opportunity to continue exploring, creating and imparting artistic wisdom.” The Rome exhibition, set to showcase Mann’s latest works, is eagerly anticipated by art enthusiasts and critics. It promises to culminate Mann’s decades-long exploration of visual discernment and artistic reinvention.
