Miami’s III Points Festival has announced their lineup for their 7th annual event. The announcement comes ahead of tickets going on sale on Friday, January 24th.
Since 2013, III Points has developed a reputation for curating lineups that balance big names with up-and-coming talent. This year is no different. The headlining acts for 2020 are The Strokes, Wu Tang Clan, Disclosure, and Robyn. At first glance, this may seem like quite the mash up of sounds. However, much like the city of Miami, III Points is a melting pot of genres that blend together to form a cohesive vibe.
A Good Look at the Lineup
While Wu-Tang Clan is the most eye catching name on the lineup for most, it does not mean this is a rap festival. Built on a foundation of good music, III Points caters to all sounds that fit their vibe. Hip-hop will be complimented by soulful sounds from talented artists such as Moses Sumney and Omar Apollo.
As far as electronic music is concerned, the lineup released so far boasts some of the biggest names in dance. The legendary Green Velvet will be performing along with Chris Lake who is a legend in his own right. Boiler Room favorite, Disclosure, will be headlining the festival with iconic dance act Robyn sharing the billing. III Points will be partnering with Boiler Room for a live stream of the Boiler Room stage, a deal which will put the festival on the radar of ravers around the world.
The indie rock scene is well represented on this lineup as well. Headliners, The Strokes, find themselves in great company alongside French indie pop/electronic group, Stereolab. DIY darling, (Sandy) Alex G will be performing as well, showing that you can still make it in music on your own. His booking is a testament to III Point’s history of staying away from the mainstream and focusing on innovative acts. More Than Just Music
III Points is not just about music. The nuanced balance of sounds provides the perfect soundtrack for their visual art experiences. The festival grounds of Mana Wynwood are going to host various immersive art installations throughout the fairgrounds. Technology and art balance with each other to create visually stunning pieces with a futuristic conceptual art energy. There will also be murals tying it all together with various graffiti artists doing live projects.
In between music sets and exploring the art installations, you can get a taste for the local flair with some of the many food trucks and stands. We have no word on who will be providing the culinary art for III Points 2020, but their track record indicates it will be delicious. III Points is a place where you can truly indulge all of your senses.
The festival will take place at the massive enclave that is Mana Wynwood May 1st and 2nd. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 24th at 10am and will be available thru the III Points website.
