Samsung has been hosting its annual “Unpacked” events every year since 2009. Each “Unpacked” event is meant to unveil the newest innovations in Samsung mobile technology for the coming year, with the 2021 event being no exception. Here’s what we learned from the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event.

Three New Phones Are Available for Pre-Order

The three new Samsung Android phones announced at the event were the Galaxy S21, the Galaxy S21 Plus, and the S21 Ultra. The Galaxy S21 will cost $799. The Galaxy S21 Plus will cost $999 and the S21 Ultra model will cost $1,1999. The Ultra model will be compatible with the Samsung S pen, but the other two models aren’t S pen compatible. The three new phone models are available for pre-order now, or you can get them when they are released for sale to the general public on January 29th. They come in a variety of sleek shades, like rose gold, black and phantom violet. All three of the phones are 5G compatible.

The Galaxy S21 is the least expensive of the three new mobile phones. It is also the smallest, with a 6.2 inch display. The S21 Plus model has a 6.7 inch display and a larger battery. All three of the new phone models comes equipped with a Contour Cut Camera design as seen in the image above.

The camera comes with features like the 8K snap, which allows the user to grab 8K images from any 8K videos that were recorded. If you set your new S21 phone to Pro Video mode and utilize the multiple mic recording feature, you can capture your voice and any ambient background sounds.

The video recording feature also comes with Super Steady mode, to avoid shaky videos even in less than stable recording conditions. The S21 Ultra model’s camera is the most advanced of the three models, with a sensor that holds up to 108 megapixels. (This allows for photos with a higher resolution, even in low light.)

Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag

Samsung also introduced a Smart Tag tracker at the Unpacked event. This little device allows you to keep track of things that are easily lost but highly valuable, like a pet or car keys. You attach the smart tag to a pet collar or your keychain. Using the SmartThings app, you can easily connect to your lost item by using your phone to connect to the Smart Tag tracker. Those who preorder one of the new phone models will get a Smart Tag tracker for free. The normal price for a Smart Tag is $29.99.

Samsung also unveiled the new Galaxy Buds Pro set. The wireless earbuds are $199 a pop and have improved noise cancellation and are completely waterproof for up to thirty minutes if submerged.
