‘Transgender’ Doll with Penis Outrages Social Media Users

Published on January 18, 2020

A children’s “transgender” doll with a penis sold in a Russian toy store, caused mixed reactions on social media after going viral.

The doll is wearing a red and yellow polka dot dress with blond hair tied in two ponytails, and underneath the dolls dress is what appears to be a penis.

And it’s thought to be the among the first transgender doll in the world; the Planeta Igrushek (Planet of Toys) shop in Siberia was selling the toy.

But the ‘progressive’ doll has stirred-up mixed responses from social media users and in a conservative country that strictly restrains LGBTQ rights.

One twitter user said Barbie never added human genitalia to their dolls, so why was this doll created differently?

What are we doing to our children??? This is horrible. Transgender children’s doll, a doll with male genitalia under a dress. Barbie and Ken dolls are created with no genitalia, so why this doll?

Another user added that this goes against biology and that it’s going to confuse children.

This is the ‘world’s first transgender children’s doll’- a doll with female clothes but male genitalia. It goes against biological facts, lies to children as well as confusing them.

But another user said the company might have had a manufacturing defect.

“I think it is really terrible what is going on in this child’s parent’s head,” the user said. “Have you considered that it could simply be a manufacturing defect? Or they accidentally put a female head on a male body?”

Dolls with Genitals Is Not a New Surprise

In December 2019, a L.O.L doll went viral for having a surprise between its legs.

And according to the New York Post, parents were calling for the toy manufacture, MGA Entertainment, to have warning labels or redesign the packaging.

“Attention parents please check your children’s L.O.L Surprise dolls. The boy dolls are inappropriate and obscene for small children especially girls as they are anatomically correct with no warning on the package.”

L.OL. Lists Boy Doll as “Anatomically correct”

But the company lists the boy version of the L.O.L doll as an “anatomically correct doll” on Amazon.

CEO and founder of MGA Entertainment, Isaac Larian, told The Post the company intentionally designed the dolls’ private parts to include accurate body parts.

“All of our LOL Surprise boy dolls have been (and will continue to be) anatomically correct. We believe in the importance of clarity and authenticity with our products and our consumers, and this approach has been carried through all of our products over the past 40 years.”

He continued, “In the doll category, anatomically correct dolls have been available for many years. We currently have a notification on all packaging, website and product retail pages that states the LOL Surprise! boys are anatomically correct…”

Divided Opinions

In 2014 a fairy toy in Argentina divided opinions because the toy featured “male genitals.” According to Daily Mail toy store “Once” purchased the toy from a Chinese retailer.

In an interview with Daily Mail, one person said the topic is taboo.

“It’s very difficult to give an opinion because I’m conscious that it’s a taboo subject in society… but yes, obviously, it’s shocking,”
