Tom Brady Created His Own Production Company ‘199 Productions’

Published on March 10, 2020

Is NFL all-star quarterback Tom Brady’s football career over? The New England Patriots’ six-time Super Bowl-winner is one of the greatest men ever to throw a football. However, last season may have ended Tom Brady’s career on a low note with a crushing defeat against the Tennessee Titans.

What’s Next for Brady?

The loss doesn’t take anything away from Brady’s career and achievements, but still, it’s not exactly how football fans imagined a champ such as Brady going out. We’re still waiting to see what the golden boy does next in his football career, whether he’ll be back or not, but in the meantime, he’s working with the filmmakers behind the Avengers movies.

199 Productions

Brady is already thinking towards the future. Unsurprisingly, he’s thinking big, too. Brady has launched his own production company, 199 Productions. It’s a global multi-platform content company that’ll produce movies, docs, and TV shows. Brady & Company already have a few irons in the fire with one project featuring Brady on-camera, sports stories, and content on entertainment, health, and wellness.

The Russo Brothers Project

The biggest project Brady and his company are behind involve Joe and Anthony Russo. The directing duo are producing a 3D documentary about football. The hope is to bring viewers closer to the game, on and off the field. Brady will be on-camera, talking about High School, college, and pro football.

The executive producer of Facebook’s Tom vs. Time and co-founder of Religion of Sports, Gotham Chopra, will direct the movie. With the Russo brothers’ name on the film, surely the 3D doc will catch viewers attention when it hits theaters. In a statement, the Avengers directors said:

“Tom is one of the most successful, iconic and inspiring sports figures in history. We want to bring his story, and the story of the game he loves, to the big screen in a way that gives audiences an experience of football that they’ve never had before. As passionate fans of Tom, and the game, we’re thrilled to partner with and him and his amazing team on this special project.”

The World is Brady’s Oyster

Is there anything Tom Brady can’t do? Maybe cook a nice pecan pie possibly, but the man is a champion and is probably going to tackle his post-NFL career projects with the same drive and intensity he brought to the field. If anyone could build a content empire, Brady could do it. It’s no surprise he’s teaming up with the top dogs in the film industry right now, the Russo Brothers, given Brady can probably afford to work with the best. In a statement, Brady expressed confidence in his team behind 199 Productions:

“I’m excited to be working with Joe and Anthony Russo and their team at AGBO Films, whose creative vision and unrivaled storytelling has revolutionized the industry. I’m humbled to have the opportunity to partner with them to bring Unseen Football to the big screen and tell this story in a way that has never been done before. I believe in the essence of teamwork, and I have no doubt, our team will create the most magical experience for people to enjoy.”

199 Productions, by the way, is a reference to the year Brady was drafted into the National Football League. The Michigan quarterback wasn’t drafted until the second to last round. Nobody expected big things from him, but he proved the world wrong and became the Tom Brady we know today.

There’s still a chance he’ll return to the NFL. Rumor has it, Brady’s talks with the Patriots haven’t gone great, but who really knows? Nobody except Tom Brady. It’s hard to imagine him throwing in the towel after last season’s ending. Without question, he has another Super Bowl win in him, but until he decides what to do, Brady can do as he pleases. Like create a massive production company.
