A Passion for Machinery and Technology
Berg has over 30 years of experience in the machine tool and IT sectors. Influenced by his father — who instilled strong values and inspired his career — he began learning practical skills at a young age. He earned the Achievement Award for Applied Science from Schaumburg High School and studied electrical and electronics engineering at Harper College. Professionally, Berg has worked as a service tech, engineer, and supervisor, including roles at Heidenhain and DMG Mori Co., Ltd., before founding CNC Surgeon LLC in 2022.
Efficient Issue Resolution
Berg specializes in troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading machines, as well as training operators and developing PLC programs for automated systems. He visits clients’ sites to repair equipment, sometimes making small adjustments and other times performing major overhauls like replacing gears or motors.
“My top priority is keeping customers’ machines running,” says Berg.

Berg credits his sustained achievements in the industry to a strong commitment to client satisfaction. He has also cultivated advanced problem-solving abilities, which he acknowledges have significantly influenced his professional trajectory.
While Berg occasionally encounters clients who are skeptical of his ability to repair equipment after other technicians have been unsuccessful, his extensive knowledge and expertise typically enable him to identify solutions promptly upon arrival. Achieving positive outcomes and meeting client needs are aspects of his work that he finds particularly rewarding.
Looking ahead, Berg expresses some concerns regarding challenges within his industry, especially the difficulty of attracting younger talent into the field. This shortage of skilled technicians presents ongoing obstacles; however, he remains optimistic about the continued growth of CNC Surgeon LLC under his leadership.
Berg’s five-year objective is to steadily expand the company and increase staff numbers.
In recognition of his professional expertise, Berg was selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who in 2025.
