The New ‘Birds of Prey’ Trailer is Here

Published on January 9, 2020

Another trailer dropped this morning for Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. Let me tell you, it looks fantabulous indeed.

The trailer features Harley blowing up a truck and building (with Mister J. in it?!). We already know that Jared Leto’s Joker will not be returning in this film, which gives Harley Quinn her chance to really shine.

For the rest of the trailer, Harley and her team proceeded to kick some ass. The Birds of Prey take on the Black Mask and his goons in an absolutely delightful display of girl power.

It’s exactly what I’d expect based on the previous trailers and information about the film. Birds of Prey is campy, action-packed, and a wild-ride possibly involving some cocaine consumption on the part of everyone’s favorite crazy psychiatrist.

Margot Robbie as Harley effortlessly slips between her ulta-intelligent doctor persona and back into the unhinged and uninhibited harlequin in a way that is so dynamic and exciting to watch. The film is high on my list to see in theaters just for Robbie’s portrayal of Harley alone.

Birds of Prey is an all-female ensemble action film, already a rarity. The film is also written, directed, and produced by all women, with Robbie both starring and producing. The girl power isn’t just in the storyline, it permeates into how the film was made and I am all here for it.

Birds of Prey is rated R, another unusual feature for the comic book movie genre. The R rating, however, allows the character of Harley Quinn to truly reach her full, undiluted potential.

Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn premiers on February 7th, 2020.
