Disney+ Super Bowl Spot Gave Us A Glimpse of Marvel Studios’ Phase 4:

Published on February 3, 2020

2019’s Avengers: Endgame was a huge turning point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking away beloved heroes and leaving the future of the remaining ones in question. However Disney+’s Super Bowl LIV commercial showed us what’s in store for some of our heroes and a fan-favorite villain, dubbed “Phase 4.”

The ad showcased new shows such as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki, three upcoming Marvel television series that will air exclusively on Disney+.

Phase 4: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The short trailer shows Falcon throwing Cap’s signature shield intercut with clips of other heroes and villains in the show, Scarlet Witch, and Vision finding themselves in an 50’s sitcom-like alternate reality, and Loki sitting in what appears to be prison garb, saying he wants to “burn this place to the ground,” wherever that place may be.

Phase 4: WandaVision

Falcon and the Winter Soldier are trying to carry on Captain America’s legacy, while dealing with some returning foes. Wanda is mourning the loss of her lover Vision, which looks to throw in some possibly situations with her mind powers. Due to some time-travel mishaps, Loki from 2012’s Avengers is alive and kicking.

Phase 4: Loki

Judging by the symbol on Loki’s outfit, comic fans will recognize this as the Time Variance Authority, an organization responsible for keeping the timeline in check. Judging by where we left off with Loki in Endgame, they’ll most likely be prominent in the show.

This seems to be the first look we have at Marvel’s Phase 4 which fans have been curious about since Endgame. Not only will there be these shows this year, but Marvel has a few films still due out.

Black Widow will hit theaters on May 1, but it acts as a prequel set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. The Eternals is a movie due out November 6, and will be a story that takes place in the past, since its characters are part of an alien race that predates humans in the MCU.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and WandaVision are due to premiere sometime this year, while Loki does not have an official release date yet.
