Sorin Medical embraces the newest technological advances and creates a new standard of cardiovascular care

NEW YORK, NY – Sorin Medical, one of the nation’s leading cardiovascular healthcare providers, introduces a transformative approach to the prevention, detection, and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Marking the first of its kind in the City of New York, Sorin Medical will open a Center of Excellence dedicated exclusively for cardiovascular care. The new state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the most advanced technology and robotics, including the Sorin Heart Scan™, which detects heart disease and provides results in as little as four minutes. Located in the heart of New York City, Sorin Medical occupies over 5,600 sq feet on the ground floor of the historic building at 120 Wall Street.

“Heart disease remains the number one cause of death in the U.S., but for many people access to quality, affordable and personalized cardiovascular care is needed,” said Dr. Joseph A. Puma, interventional cardiologist and founder of Sorin Medical. “Our goal in opening the center is to introduce a new paradigm in cardiovascular care that improves accessibility, enhances care, and uses the latest transformative technology to eliminate the need for invasive procedures, as well as other costly, time consuming, non-invasive diagnostic testing. Sorin Medical physicians are motivated to make patients feel better and live longer.”

The Sorin heart scan, used exclusively at Sorin Medical, is the newest, most advanced, and fastest CT scan using dual source imaging for the detection and evaluation of heart disease. The Sorin heart scan offers far superior accuracy than existing single source scans that the majority of hospitals currently use. With a four-minute scan and 15 minutes of evaluation, the Sorin heart scan will make stress testing obsolete and minimize the need for invasive angiogram and catheter related procedures. This ultimately, reduces the cost of cardiovascular care and improves access for underserved communities.

“The overall process of cardiovascular care has not been re-envisioned and technological advances have not been fully integrated – until now,” said Dr. Justin A. Ratcliffe, medical director and managing partner, Sorin Medical. “This is a transformative approach that meets the needs of the community and improves the overall quality of care.”

Sorin Medical will offer exceptional care and a personalized approach combined with the latest medical technology to improve the health and wellness of patients.

Sorin Medical is accepting patients.
