Do you remember show-and-tell from elementary school? This new series is almost like that–but instead of our favorite stuffed animal–we’re showing off the latest in high tech gadgets. I currently work at Gadget Flow and I’m a regular at the annual CES gathering–which means I see a ton of new products on a regular basis. I’ve joined Bold TV to host a new tech unboxing segment “Show and Tell,” to share the cool stuff I’m discovering, like the Whistle Pet GPS and Fitness tracker.

In this segment, I unbox the Whistle GO Explore: Pet GPS and Fitness Tracker. This gadget is for all those dog parents with free-spirited pets.

Preparing for runaways

One of the most terrifying feelings is when your beloved pet gets out of the house or yard and is wandering away. While there are several other solutions to stop dogs from escaping–sometimes it’s just inevitable–especially if you don’t want to use an electric fence.

Dog owners take their jobs seriously and do what it takes to give their furry friends a good life. One of the popular ways to take care of your pet is to get them chipped at the vet. However, a popular misconception of the chip is that it tracks your pet. In reality–it’s simply an ID chip–which is important, but trackers are essential.

When dogs run away, they are in danger of cars, other dangerous animals, and people. This GPS tracker is to help dog parents prepare for a runaway and have peace of mind should that dark day ever come.

Fashionable and functional

With a designer collar from Whistle or your own existing collar–the tracker clips on to them all very easily. Once secured, owners enjoy peace of mind knowing they can use the app to track their dog to a 3-square-meter section. With the app, pet owners can set a geofence around their yard and once the dog leaves the safety zone, the owner is alerted and is able to begin tracking.

While away on travel–many pet owners opt-in to doggy daycare and dog sitting services, like those offered on platforms like Rover. While using a Whistle tracker, you can check in on your companion from afar and make sure they are where they’re supposed to be.

Making sure the furry friends are active

While the Whistle helps owners track their pet’s position, it also like a Fitbit for pets and tracks their activity. Not every dog is playful and hyper–some like to lounge around, eat, and take long naps. Since owners aren’t always at home to keep track of their pets’ activity–they can never be too sure if there’s enough movement going on. But with their app, they can check how active their dog is–or lazy–, whether they’re at home, at work, or on vacation. This is a great way to make sure your dog sitter is walking the pets as agreed. If you’re a concerned pet owner, check out this awesome gadget and more pet tech!

I will be back soon to unbox more tech, but until then, check out my previous Show and Tell episodes here.
