See Pixar’s New Trailers For Toy Story 4

Published on November 19, 2018

Toy Story 4 is the third sequel that no one asked for, but we’re getting it anyway.

Pixar is hard at work making sure that you feel all of the nostalgia in 2019. The Disney-owned animation company just released two new teaser trailers for the fourth installment of the Toy Story franchise. Toy Story 4 is set to be released next summer. The company pretty much wrapped it up in the ending of the last movie when Andy went off to college. So anything goes with the fourth movie.

Toy Story 4

The first teaser trailer that got released for Toy Story 4 showed the characters holding hands in a circle. The trailer introduces a new character, a spork with pipe cleaner arms and a drawn on face with some social anxiety. The trailer doesn’t give much away in terms of what we can expect from the story, but it will get rid of any qualms you may have had about Pixar creating yet another Toy Story movie. I mean, after franchises like Home Alone and The Lion King it’s easy to assume that any fourth installment is doomed to be absolutely terrible.

The latest Toy Story 4 trailer introduces two new characters. It was released just one day after the first trailer. This trailer shows two carnival plush toys named Ducky & Bunny fighting over what Buzz Lightyear’s famous “to infinity and beyond” tagline is. At the end of the trailer we see an appearance from Buzz & Woody themselves. Could this mean that the toys end up joining the circus?

New Cast

The characters are voiced by Key & Peele. Seth Rogen had a role in Toy Story 3 when it was released in 2010 (yes, 2010). Utilizing famous comedians as secondary characters is no new feat for Pixar or the Toy Story franchise.

Disney has been investing in the Toy Story franchise recently outside of the movies. An entire land dedicated to the story opened up at Disney’s Hollywood Studios after seeing its success in other parks around the world. The company wouldn’t just create a new theme park without the guarantee that they could milk more money out of the films, so a Toy Story 4 has definitely been in the works for years now.

The Original

Toy Story dives into the world of a group of children’s toys owned by a kid named Andy. As Andy grows up throughout the movies, the toys struggle with the idea that they’ll eventually get replaced. The final movie wrapped up the story as good as it possibly could. So it’s hard to say where Pixar will take things for the next installment in the series. We can only hope it includes a whole lot of the little green men.

Anyway, if you need a good cry you can read this hint from Tim Allen that the end of Toy Story 4 is going to break your inner child’s heart.
