Grammy-award winning rock legends Pearl Jam have announced the release of their 11th studio album, Gigaton, the band’s first since their 2013 album, Lightning Bolt.
Along with the new album, the band also announced a 16-date North American tour to support its release. It kicks off in Toronto on March 18 and concludes in Oakland on April 19.
Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready made note that it has been a while since the band released new music.
He said, “Making this record was a long journey. It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on ‘Gigaton’ ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”
Fans won’t have to wait too long to get a taste of the new album, though; its lead single, “Dance of the Clairvoyants,” will be released in the next few weeks.
In addition to this new tour, Pearl Jam announced a European tour back in December. It is set to take place this summer with groups Pixies, IDLES and White Reaper.
Gigaton comes out on March 27.
