Prince’s Estate To Release New Album

When someone inspires the masses, his legacy will always be felt. But when he changes the world, he becomes an icon.

It has been three years since the passing of the iconic Prince, but his Purple Rain is still pouring out in American culture.

In honor of his legacy, Prince’s estate has announced plans to release a new album on his birthday. This news coming shortly after the estate declared that the singer’s memoir would be released on October 29.

Titled “Originals” this masterpiece will be a compilation of unreleased singles from between to 1981 and 1991. Prince, who is known for his many hit records and original sound, actually penned several top charting singles for some of music’s brightest stars. As a result this release will feature 15 hit records Prince wrote and gave to others.

But the most unique aspect of this album is that each song will have a special Prince twist on them, as his voice will appear over each record. Each track was hand picked by Troy Carter, on behalf of Prince’s Estate and Roc Nation’s JayZ.

“Originals” will include Shelia E’s “The Glamorous Life”, Kenny Rogers’ hit single “You’re My Love”, as well as “Nothing Compares 2 U” by The Family, Family.

Warner Bros. and Tidal Partnership

Prince’s estate partnered with Warner Bros. Records and Tidal for this release, scheduled for June 7.  It will be launched exclusively through Tidal, while physical copies and streaming on other music platforms will be available on June 21. A limited edition Deluxe CD+2LP formats will also be available for purchase.


Prince’s team along with Random House will also be releasing a personal memoir from the late superstar titled The Beautiful Ones. It is geared to be released on October 29 and will be a candid account of how Prince rose to stardom.

As this is something that has been in the works for quite some time, it will include rare personal photos, a scrapbook, and hand written lyrics from Prince. The 288-page book will also include an opening from writer Dan Piepenbring, as Prince originally chose him to be a collaborator with him.

Prince’s legacy will continue to play out through these new endeavors. Fans can pre-order The Beautiful Ones as the world waits for the return of Prince Rogers Nelson!
